I need a good cms, something that's easy to use. I like WP but I want to avoid it looking like a glorified blog. Also, I could do with some recommendations for photo gallery software. What's the most popular and reliable these days?

You can use wordpress or Joomla as the CMS, there are many Themes that are specified for that specific use.
They don't have to look like blogs.
Would suggest you Google it and look for some gallery themes to see if any fits your taste.
Don't think you need to buy any software for this. There are some codes that gives you some nice Gallery features, but for that you need a page up running first.

Wordpress is actually the most friendly CMS software, if you are planning in using Joomla, then you always need a developer for you're site. You can have any design and site structure you wan't using Wordpress if you have a good coder.

Those are nice looking themes but I'd like a free theme. Wordpress doesn't seem to have any good ones though. Are there any other image hosting / gallery scripts that are easy to use? I'd like something already set up and ready to go as I don't have the time or the money to mess around with it.
