Amazon Affiliate Beginner Question

by SuperDJ 8 replies
Hi, new here..

I've been wondering, is it possible to direct customers to the amazon homepage to allow them to buy whatever they want? And is this done simply by clicking the "link to this page" button at the top of Amazon Associates?

Yes,you could link directly to the Amazon home page if you want to,just use the affiliate bar like you said and click the link to this page option to get the code from there.

Sure, the only difference is that for some reason the Home
Page doesn't have a link title so it asks you to put in the
link title that normally would already be named for you if
you were on an individual item page.

Yes, you can do that, and the "link to this page" will work. You'd probably have better results if you send them to a product or group of products that they are looking for.

Yeah, but you should know that product-related keywords convert the best. In other words, you are far more likely to make a sale by targeting people who are looking for specific products. They have already been exposed to the product and are already considering buying it. They just need a nudge in the right direction. There's also a built-in trust factor with Amazon. When you just send people to a page of products, you're giving them too many options, and lots of times, they won't buy anything. Also, go for higher-priced stuff.

    Good luck,
    Joey

I've seen people do this on traffic exchanges, linking to Amazon's homepage. I've seen it quite a lot, so I imagine it must be getting them results as every traffic exchange surfer will be getting the 24hr cookie on their computer. Im not sure if that type of traffic is allowed though.

Yes it can be done but I cant imagine a very good use for it other than blackhat stuff, otherwise you would get a much better conversion rate sending them to a target product.

You can link to any page in Amazon, even to a single customer review of a product.
