Hi Everyone ! Just Joined WF, Relativeley new to IM, 19 Years Young : ) Eager to get started !

Hey, just joined the forum and thought I should introduce myself !
I'm Krish, 19 Year Old Bartender from London : )

I've been involved in some notable "opportunities" but haven't seen much success, my friends and family have never been very supportive often mocking my interest in IM but I refuse to become discouraged as I know it is possible to earn money online. However it seems there is a lot of hype within the industry and I find it hard to separate genuine help from those posing as "mentors/gurus" that are really out for a fast buck : (

I have a rather small budget, but tons of ambition, a hard working attitude and an open mind. I really don't see myself working for someone all my life and see it as a number one priority to become my own boss, prove my friends/family wrong and create real financial freedom for myself eventually.

You only live once and I don't see why people should spend their lives earning someone else money.

I'm looking to really change my life financially over the next 8 - 12 months

I'd really appreciate some solid advice from you experienced marketers on good ways to just get started earning something online, and what specific steps I should take to start progressing.

Hope to hear from someone soon, have a great day !

    Hey Krish,

Welcome to the forum and its great that you are taking your first steps in online marketing. Your ambition to be your own boss can certainly be realised and with hard work anything is possible. That being said in no particular order if I were starting again these are the main points I would keep in mind:

    1. Do not be swept away by the Hype. I think you already have an idea of how hard it can be to separate the hype from reality so my advice would be to start slow. By this I mean take your time to differentiate between fact and fiction. If something seems TO GOOD TO BE TRUE it usually is. Stay grounded and aim to learn everything you can about this business before you start to spend money to achieve your goals.

    2. Read & Consume - Take your time to consume knowledge about this field. It may seem like internet marketing is one thing but in reality there are several different paths each with their own set of particular methods. Look into affiliate marketing, list building, traffic generation, website creation with wordpress and product creation to name but a few ideas.

    3. Use this forum as a starting point. It is a free resource that you will do well to start your learning from. When you have the resources sign up as a War Room member - you will have a wealth of more information to go through and it certainly will more than pay for the one time fee.

    4. Treat your internet marketing like a business. I wish I had taken this advice myself when I started, and to be honest many make the mistake of treating online marketing more as a hobby or part time affair. That being said we all have different goals and yours maybe different to others however from the looks of things if you are serious about being your own boss and making money online you MUST HAVE A BUSINESS PLAN. This would mean going through the above steps and first figuring out what methods you want to adopt, and which business model you want to follow. Once you have this sussed out things become more focussed and you can start to use your time effectively.

    5. Stick to your objective/business plan - Its very easy for all of us to be blown way by the next shiny method, awesome software that can make us money instantly or other fad. By all means experiment but remember your true goals and plans and stick to them religiously. Make time for yourself to follow through on your plans, be it 1 hour per week or several per day Everyday. Keep a journal of your progress. Be true and honest to yourself. Ask yourself the question every week: Is my business on the right path? Have I been doing what needs to be done to further my own goals? If the answer is no then stop and re-examine what you need to do to get back on path and DO IT!.

I know these pointers do not sound sexy and I realise right now and possibly for the next few months the 'idea' of making money online will seem very seductive. However, when your feet touch the ground you will need to wake up to the cold truth that online business just like the real world of being a bartender takes TIME. Nothing comes easy, and the long road is often the best. With that being said my last pointer (from someone much more eloquent than myself) is one I try to remember when I get down or wish to draw strength from and its something you may be able to use in your own business and life too:

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." Mark Twain

In other words stay positive and believe in your own worth. I wish you the best of success in your online business no matter what route you take! Have fun and prosper :-)

Hey Krish and welcome to the forum

I have had replied before to a thread similar to yours and I am too lazy to write it again

Hey tinkerz and welcome to the forum

First of all: DON'T buy anything that claims it will make you hundreds of dollars without work, as much as sweet this could be but it doesn't exist yet.

Second: Go get a War-Room membership, it is only $37 one-time payment and it has all the training in the world on how to go from Beginner to Advanced in no time without wasting all your money on hundreds of useless products.

Third: If you are good at writing or any kind of skill you have, you can go to Fiverr at Fiverr and offer your services there where they pay you $4 instantly to your PayPal account once you do a service so this can be a way to generate small income while you are looking for a way to reach your goals.

Fourth: Don't go trying HUNDREDS of methods at the same time, there are like 1,000,000 ways to make money online and they are ALL attractive! Pick a method which appeal to you most and STICK with it for the next 30 days WHATEVER the results are.

Don't go buy anything, don't go reading about other methods, you are just devoting all your focus and productivity to that method alone.

    Good luck
if you have any questions just ask as the forum is full of people who will help you

    hey krish.
I suggest you invest in LyndaDOTcom if you lack technical skills. That helps a lot with the technical learning curve. Otherwise Good luck.

Thanks for the advice everyone, it's much appreciated. It feels great to be around like people who don't simply scoff at the idea of making money online and instead give solid, no b.s advice and inspiration. I already feel somewhat at home and will start taking action on some of things advised.

    Thanks Again Everyone : )

    Welcome to WF, Krish.

Everyone, including me, will face doubts from family & friends who think that you cannot make much in IM. The only way to prove them wrong is to work on it. You have what it takes to make it work - a hardworking attitude. Make use of this forum to learn as much as you can. Stay focused & do not look for the next shiny objects that promise you $xx,xxx in 24 hrs or so.

    All the best to you.

    Hi,

Welcome to the forum and best wishes. Since your starting out, one of the most valuable places to check whether a specific product/idea/direction is worth pursuing is here at the Warrior Forum. I have lost count of the number of times I have checked here before pushing the 'buy now' button at some site and realizing after reading a post at WF that my emotion was guiding my decision making and not my logic.

A second good place to start is to check out Chris Farrell. A great way to start learning from someone who is a great teacher. Check him out!

Enjoy the IM ride. Its rough at the start but one of the best rides in town!

    cheers, Patrick
