Offer to buy Fanpage... Is it worth it??

Hey guys,

I have a fanpage in the "dog" niche with 200 000 members, 550 people talking about it now.

I never monetized it, it has only been used as truly a fanpage because I love dogs.

Someone has messaged me and offered to purchase the fanpage from me.

They have made an offer, but I truly do not know if I would be ripped because I don't know the true value.

What would you say a FB Fanpage is worth? Dog Niche, 200 000 member, 550 people talking about it now.

Thanks, I am in a real bind.

I think it would depend on how active people in the Fanpage are.....

How many impressions do the posts get on average?
    How many active fans?
What sort of interaction are fans having with the content?

All of these will impact on the final sale price....

Why don't you think of monetizing it yourself when you are ready to sell?

Why don`t you try http://flippa.com press buy websites tab
in the search box type "fan pages"
, and on the left hand side their is an advanced tab beside refine,
    go down and check won,
this should give you an idea what other people have paid for fan pages .
You could always list it on Flippa as well

List it for sale on Flippa?! That's a great way to... have your fanpage banned. I do not suggest doing this. It is against their (Facebook) terms to trade and sell fanpages so you don't want to do any of this publicly.

The active users is what's important. 2,000 is quite low in my opinion and I wouldn't probably pay more than a few hundred dollars for it. Another question I would have as a purchaser is what is the topic of the fanpage. If it's just a generalized topic that you are not an actual representative of then your admin rights could be pulled at anytime so it's not worth the risk of paying any decent amount of money for the fanpage.

$200 is worth for so many likes and active users.

They are people who pay hundreds of dollars just to get 5000 members. You should be very careful in selling your fan page. Why don't you use this fan page for your own benefits? Start a website with the same niche and make money out of it.

Really hard to say since you have not monetized it. If you are happy with the offer, take it since you are not making any money from it.
