English is my third language, I am looking for some suggestions that can help me improving my English writing skills. What kind of courses can you suggest for improving the kind of writing needed for sales letters / reports / articles? can use improvement in all the areas required. So any suggestion will be appreciated.

    Hi,

I actually just said this in a different thread, but have you considered outsourcing your writing to someone else and spending time on more important things? Especially if writing is not your strength, find someone that already has this strength which will allow you to focus on your own strengths.

Writing is one of those skills that just takes forever to be good at. If I was a completely terrible writer, I'd probably outsource using funds I got from... doing... something else I was good at!

You want to improve your writing skill right? Well start wring, like a lot! Add some check spelling so you will know where you messed up and write you ass of every day. I suggest you do it on forums, you will also get a lot of posts and stuff in this process, so its a win-win situation.
    Have fun.

Try reading "Elements of Style". It is a small book that goes over proper writing technique and style.

You could also develop a relationship with an English speaker trying to learn one of the languages you are more comfortable with. Set up 30 minute skype sessions to help each other with language and grammar issues. You could also send each other texts to edit. I have a friend who worked with someone in Japan as they both learned each other's language. this helped tremendously and it has no cost!

Expressing yourself every day in words is the only way to develop your style. Use the grammar checker in many word programs but also using review sites like paperrater.com can help your writing by giving you quick reviews and corrections for your writing.

The only way to get better is to write every day and allow your own style to develop a voice for your sites. Otherwise, you can outsource your writing and have that writer develop a persona for your sites.

If this is for business purposes and you are capable of funding...then I suggest outsource this need...sales reports...high quality unique contents...are without a doubt very important elements to marketing and it will take some time to perfect a language which isn't your native tongue...heck even I make mistakes at times..lol

Even people with good English have problems writing good articles. I always suggest that you pay for good content. At the end of the day good content makes you $$$$.

Kudos to you for being able to speak 3 languages (I know plenty of people who struggle mightily with just one! )

If your issue isn't with the vocabulary and grammar itself - and you simply want to get better at copywriting, or blog writing, or article writing - start searching and reading. If I were you, I'd sign up for some (good) lists. Even if you never buy any of the products being pitched, you'll get to see a ton of different sales letters/emails. That way, you can see what you like, what you don't, and how things are structured. Take a look around popular article directories and blogs. You'll see good (and downright terrible) writing. Once you can spot the good and bad for yourself, you'll start to understand what readers are looking for.

If you're having trouble with the grammar and other finer points, I'd suggest hiring an editor/proofreader until you get your skills up to snuff. That way, you won't risk publishing anything that has errors in it.

If you are having problems, then there are 2 solutions to your challenge.

1.) You could as has already been stated, outsource your article writing, if of course you could afford it.
2.) You could always find a good english dictionary and thesaurus as that will help you with your grammar and spelling.

    I hope this helps you.
