How do I Solve "500 Internal Server Error"

pls i need some one to help me out from this mess ...i couldn't have an access to my site nor the admin


all i see is


"Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    The HTTP Error 500 is a 'catch-all' error generated by the Web server. Basically something has gone wrong, but the server can not be more specific about the error condition in what it displays in your browser.

    In addition to the 500 error notified back to your browser, the Web server should generate some kind of internal error log which gives more details of what went wrong. It is up to the operators of the Web server site to locate and analyse these logs. You might just need to contact them unless you have direct access to those logs.

    I hate errors like these!

    You'd need to tell us more about what you were doing right up to the point of the error. What was the last thing you changed? Are you installing new software or scripts?
    Often the 500 error is a permissions based problem requiring chmod settings for specific files....but it could be anything....

      thanks so much ...i was installing a plugin yesterday ...though i installed several of them but Ucontext was the one i did last and it ask for api which i added ...while refreshing the page i got on a scattered home page ...but the admin and other content link no access

      I call my web master and he deleted all plugin install on that date but no improvement ...pls help us

    500 is often a configuration issue...asking the server to do something it can not

    you will have to diagnose the programming and double check everything

      Check with the webmaster to see if he has an older download of the site files and check the .htaccess file.

      I made a slight modification to .htaccess a few weeks back and began receiving the dreaded 500 Error message, luckily I had made a backup of the old version and simply FTP'd it until I was able to determine what was wrong in the code.

      If he does not have an old version, have him get with your hosting tech support, they should be able to assist him in resolving it.
