Where to add a newsletter?

Hi all.

Just wondering where you think the best place to enter a newsletter sign up form would be.

I'm stuggling to position it on one of my new sites.

    Hi Haynesey,

The best place is near the top above the fold so it is one of the first things visitors see. I can't see your website ( you should get a signature up as fast as you can) I don't know if it has left/right columns or how it is laid out. If it has columns place in the top of either side. I prefer the top right and I prefer something with text using my keywords on top left so search engines see the keywords first.

As far as your signup form, title it "Free Report" or something like that. A lot of people are getting tired of newsletters so offer them something different, even though it may be a newsletter.

Yep - top right. The most looked at area on any web page or blog (same for newspaper or magazine as it happens, just check out ad rates for that area in print media).

You might think that you should have something more important about your site in that area - but what's more important than getting your visitor's details so you can start building that relationship?

"Free Report" or "Free Course" as Stephen says - excellent idea. If you can make it something that's difficult for your target market to get, even better.

I might just suck as html but when i insert it my writing goes below it. So i have like my newsletter form to the top right then below it my main information.

Is there anyway around it? Or is it possible to place it in a box? Rather then just an ugly "name" "email address" area?
