Capitivating autoresponder series - To obtain opt-in & affiliate sales.

So I have numerous affiliate sites and opt-ins without a concrete "something" they're going to get isn't the most effective way. Right now I offer "promo codes, discounts, industry news, etc" on a monthly basis. I'd like a multi-email autoresponder series, maybe 5-ish providing readers with great information on my niches such as web hosting, internet security, etc. Considering most of the niches are very "to the point", there wouldn't be tons to sell them on. For example - internet security - they're looking for internet security. In these emails I want at least one affiliate link that's not random and spammy, but rather very relevant.

So, I either outsource the writing... find PLR somewhere (where??)... or would love ideas from you all!

Hey Ross, you seem to have a good idea about your niche(s), so why not write the emails yourself? I've found this is best and works great at building trust.

However, if you'd rather outsource, you can always hire a content writer and give them some bullet points to flesh out. You could then modify those emails to suit your style better.

Also, I'm not sure if you'd find PLR that's so specific, but if you do, you could give a shot at using those - with a few mods to suit your style, once again.

Regardless of the topic of your emails, you should be able to insert your affiliate link subtly if you can link it to what you're talking about. Remember that a good transition from "info" to "subtle pitch" is important.

    Yes, agreed.

    Well, that's "something", anyway.

If your traffic comprises people interested in promo codes, discounts, industry news, etc." that must be an incentive for them to opt in - if nicely presented?

It sounds a good idea. Might 5-ish be a bit on the low-ish side, though? The thing is, building the list is the hard part: once they've opted in, you might want to send them more than that? Not necessarily all at once ...

Well ... there are still many aspects to it, and different products/services available, aren't there? No reason in principle you shouldn't offer quite a range of stuff?

Well, no affiliate link you ever send anyone on your lists should be random and spammy.

I make sure that every email I send has a link for them to click on (partly because I want to get them used to clicking on my links expecting and finding something of value) but many of those are just links to something on my site (I want to keep them going back there, too). I put a specific promotion in about one email in three.

Niches vary, and customer deomgraphics vary, but I send email on days 1, 3, 6, 10 and 15 and then at 5-day intervals after that. I'm not saying that will necessarily be best for you, of course (and I only think it's best for me: it's always hard to be certain) but "something like that" might work?

"Write it yourself" is always best if you can, I think (and you obviously can), but there's no harm in getting in some high-quality PLR to use as its basis, and from what you're saying, I think you're talking about subjects for which there's PLR available? A bit spent that way will surely go a lot further than paying a writer to do them all for you? (It'll be more work too, though!).

I'd write the e-mail series myself. Sometimes people expect the same writing style in the final product as they got in the free material.
