How to Structure Amazon Site

I am building my first Amazon site and I am not sure about the structure.

I am planning to have a review for the main product on the home page. Also I am planning to have additional posts under two categories:
1) Other products reviews - each post will review one product (around 10 reviews).

2) Informational posts (around 20 or 30).

What do you think about this structure?

    That looks fine to me.

    I'd avoid doing reviews of the similar products. Why? When people are getting a possibility to choose among a variety of products they can get quickly confused and won't make the purchase, thus you won't make a conversion.

    That's a good structure, give it a shot. Consider breaking the information posts into a few categories just to organize it a bit more. It's hard to really give details without knowing what products you are writing about, but if the products are pretty similar you could have one category "Product Reviews" and then break the informational posts into "Category 1" " Category 2" "Category 3".

    Sounds like you have the right idea, not sure if your focusing on one specific product and then associated products or if you are going for a larger Authority type site, but sounds like your heading in the right direction with the information you have provided

    Are you building an authority site in a niche? I find that mini sites focusing on 1 product works very well for me.

      Sounds like you've got the right idea, that is how I structure a lot of my amazon sites. Make sure with your informational posts that you target people that are looking to buy the product, and not those that already own it.

        As felicia said, you need to ask yourself if you are targetting an authority site or a 'minisite' site. Authority, in some situations of Amazon product sites, can mean only 5 or so products. You are creating a review for each product that targets a specific keyword that your user is looking for (such as: "bicycle reviews"). A minisite would be would it appears you are trying to do, and only cover ONE product and some other fluff products to make your one product seem larger. Depends on preferences, either way is effective (I prefer the authority route typically).

      What do you mean by mini site focusing on 1 product? Do you have only one page on your site, which is the review page?

    Laser target each site to a prodcut line

    each post should be optimized for "product name" -"review"

    I do the minisite method and do 5-10 products per site, backlink (smartly) each post using the product name as anchor text.

    Also make sure you are using different tracking ID's for each site, also a different ID for text links, pic links, and button links. This will help you truly analyze what is sending customers to amazon. Make sure you have at least 1 of every type of link on each post to, the more ways to get them to Amazon the better!

    Make sure you have a range of products in a few niche categories, I built an entire site around 1 product and it was a HUGE FLOP for me last year. Good to have variety in case some don't land or convert and others do, you can keep adding additional. Choosing a good DNS name is essential too which it sounds like you already have one.

    I've had success with sites that aren't so much 'review' in the style of someone writing it and comparing it to other similar products, but technical details about the product and then comments below, which are reviews from buyers (which happen to be amazons customer reviews).

    I'm curious about your domain name since you say your main product will be on your home page. This is an issue that has always tripped me up, since we aren't supposed to use actual product names in the domain.

    How are you going to handle this? I would be interested in any comments on this subject from anyone with good experience.

      I am not going to include the product name in the url. I will include it in the title of the post, which is acceptable, as per my knowledge.

    If you are not a web designer I suggest you outsource it. You can have an excellent review site done for $87-$157 that is fantastic. Will save you a lot of problems by having it done right.

    Have your main page with the main review. Create 3-4 other pages targeting niche related keywords. Make sure to place the links to those pages in the nav bar and also the sidebar. Also, internal link all these pages with one another within the site. If you want to add content on a regular bases just keep running posts to drive traffic.
