I have been using Host Monster from day one and hadn't have any problem. But lately I get lots of down time. Is this usual for a site that gets only about 3000 visitors a day?...

I just can't afford to have my site down every night for 10- 20 minuet and sometimes even more.

Now, these are only down time that I notice, because I am trying to use the site. So I wonder how much more time the site is down when I am not paying attention to it, you know what I mean.

If you get same or more traffic, do you have this much down time and if not what hosting company do you use?...

I would appreciate if you could share your experience, expertise and recommendations. Thanks.

    Hello
I used this hosting some time ago, and I needed to cancel as one of my blogs was hacked and lost a lot of work.
At the end I am using hostgator after read several reviews here and now I am thinking to buy the package named hostdeal from Richard Maddison

I don't have any complaints with Hostgator. They are one of the more popular hosting services and are fairly inexpensive.

It seems that your website has brought too much traffic for their shared hosting. Shared server always has a physical limit on how much resources you can use.

I recommend you upgrading to VPS or checking out BlueHost Pro Package. It is a powerful shared server with which you can use CPU resources like VPS.

I agree with AksGame. For any kind of serious Internet business I recommend Hostgator. I've been their client for two years without any downtime at all. Their 24/7 live support is best that this business can offer. Their shared packages start from 7.99$, annual billing even cheaper. I use personally a reseller account for my accounts. Even though that as a previous poster in this thread recommended, VPS might be better for your business. It depends on what kind of website you're running. If it's hardcore media, proxy etc VPS is better. If its just a blog or static website 3000 visitors a day should be easily able to run on a shared package.

(This is not a paid review or an affiliate, I just love their service)

    • You can tell from answers that most postings are a little bias. Every hosting company uses machines/computers. And machines fail, and software fails too. If you are on any hosting company's server that is having problems, just ask to be migrated to a different server. Why go through the hassle of moving to another hosting company when you don't have to?
