My tip for building your list

Just wanted to share what has worked for me this last year.

One thing I spend time on is creating useful youtube videos. Instructional videos. In the video, I ask people to go to my website to subscribe, and I tell them they will get lots more free, useful videos and lesson automatically.

I also add an annotation on older videos saying the same thing.

It has worked well for me. I get 10-20 signups per day this way.

If you have decent traffic to your youtube videos, do add an annotation in the beginning and end of your videos - it's a "free" way to build your list!

Cheers!

That is a great sign up rate. I think this method really depends on your niche. My only concern is that it would seem that over the last couple of weeks we've been seeing more and more people come in here saying that they're youtube account with hundreds of product reviews, etc. have been banned and that Google/Youtube is taking a hard stance on the MMO niche.

If you're outside of the MMO niche then I think this method would be fantastic!

That's a great tip ... it's that "giving out a real value" that makes people to sign up for your list... people really must feel you are willing to help them with real valuable answers...

Are these mostly "How-To" videos? Thanks for the tip by the way.

Yes, "How-To" videos. There are TONS of people looking for such things. How to fix your car, how to do make up, how to tie knots... you get the idea.

Thanks for the reply. Yep, I'm guilty of looking for "How-To" stuff quite often.

This is a great method to build your list for free. The secret is just getting a good number of videos out there, and soon enough the traffic starts to roll in. I think a lot of people don't take this kind of marketing seriously as it's not immediately tangible... which is good for people like us who actually do it! You're submitting high quality content to the third biggest website in the world, and it's also a highly sticky website that millions of people spend hours every day on. Really it's a no-brainer. Cheers!

This is a great tip. Giving away free content is a good way to get subscribers.

In the past, people used to article marketing. But these days, potential subscribers are more likely to check out videos for help. A video can help you build trust quickly and convince people to sign up

Cool tip. Videos really give a more personal feel as opposed to articles. Any tips on how you get so much traffic to your videos?

Just talking about a similar thing in another thread about adding annotations saying how they're a great way of directing traffic to your links in your description boxes.

A cool trick you can do to increase your click-thru-rate, is using Youtube's "Hotspot" mode which tells you which parts of your video gets the most viewed, where people are pausing and rewinding it... Very crucial data that can really maximize your CTR to your links.

If you're not too sure what I'm on about, you can watch this vid I made on it.

    Hope this helps anyway

My "trick" to get many views is quality. I put in a lot of work when it comes to making the videos, both production wise and content wise. I have over 20 million views on all my videos combined.

It has to be good and interesting and useful to a lot of people. Then the viral aspect just happens automatically, so to speak...

Being productive is good too - you can quicker get a following if you release videos, say every Monday, or every other Monday. Or every day... just tell your viewers what you are up to and they will want to subscribe.

A lot of work, sure, but my final goal is to get them on my aweber list, and that is worth it for me.

This is good video marketing. Give away great free content, and make people want more. The free videos are useful, but incomplete so they need to sign up for more.

I am just starting to dip my toe into the waters of video creation. I will bear this suggestion in mind as I start producing several a week - hopefully!
