Gotta love well written blog comments....

Sometimes I wonder why people still use poorly constructed automated systems to send their blog comments (all spun and unreadable, of course). Then I realize that it must work in some way if it is still being done. Here is a lovely comment I received today on my ghostwriting services site:

"Prediction It's to anticipate niche trends as a result of argument about enhanced money surrounding, monetary climate and then politics. The necessity of your anticipations involving swapping quote movements will be rumours. Against this, lots of sources of information are around to typically the forex trader (Reuters, Telerate, Bloomberg Gas) letting authority to access most insurance quotations and thus economical information and facts a good choice for the nation's dealing. Moreover it also has access to critical monetary signs and symptoms along with the globally finance guidance. With the ability to type a belief upon the progression involving price ranges and interest rates and also should be expected long run stances."

OK, folks, now for a quiz on what you just read....

Oh please, I understood that perfectly. The commenter was obviously voicing their opinion on the Occupy Wall Street movement, the effects of Western Europe's shaky economic situation, and something about Oreos being the best cookies around. How do you not see that

Yes, clearly ... albeit not necessarily in that order. The plain fact is: these sophisticated, lovingly crafted passages lose more than they gain by over-detailed literary analysis and interpretation - one has to accept them on their own terms, learn something from them, and be grateful for their presence in one's life. It is Thanksgiving, today, after all ...

hello. This is, while amusing, a pain in the neck. For the sake of having a nice blog I delete this nonsense. Should I edit the comments and leave them up. I guess what I mean is do these comments do anything as far as ranking my site? I can only assume they help the spammer. I really don't have time to moderate 15-20 comments (and growing) every day. Any opinions, advice? john

Bless you, these aren't comments. Nonsense posts are spam.

Remember, it's YOUR blog, and that legally you're responsible for every word on the blog, including the comments.

Why on earth would you publish nonsense?

Your blog is your home online (or one of your homes.) Just as you'd be outraged if someone sprayed graffiti all over the outside walls of your home, you should be outraged when someone tries to use your hard work for their gain, trashing your blog in the process.

          Tips:

          * Moderate comments.

          * Take out out the trash. Delete all comments which don't add real VALUE to your blog.

Very true, I don't know how I could have misread though. Of course the Oreos would be first. Common sense demands it. They are delicious cookies.

I don't know if they still do work for backlinks or whatever people were doing them for, but I believe that the people selling these services want the buyers to believe that they work.

I believe they are trying to say that future predictions on anything to do with the economy has to come from rumors not facts.

    Did I pass the Quiz?

I know some bloggers (sometimes even myself) - when we have enough time - will edit comments like this, replacing the content, changing the URL to one of our sites and having fun

I have a good friend who paid $330 for over 150 posts that turned out to be just like this. The writer wrote 5 good articles and then took over the board on a writing service that collected the money up front and lower level writing was not checked very well.

This is a travesty for writers who do a good job putting out quality content for others. I ghostwrite a blog for a local celebrity. He provides me with the main topic, several key points he wants made and after more than a year of working together, his wife has a hard time telling my writing from his on the blog. This type of relationship took a long time to build and it takes even more work to keep it fresh and alive.

I hate to see this kind of thing show up but there are people who sell software and packages that produce this very type of drivel.

As a former teacher, it was critical to impress upon students that some internet content is invalid. For students and adults, it is so hard to sift through content on the internet.

If people continue to get paid for garbage content, they'll keep creating it.

Indeed - sometimes it's easy to lose sight of the fact that there's no quality control of "information".

Some will keep creating it even though they don't get paid for it, just because courses/ebooks teach them (e.g. to spin and mass-submit and spam) and they mistakenly assume (as with so much else in internet marketing) that "it 'must' work, otherwise people wouldn't be doing it". :p

Sigh, I really hoped that people would leave a better blog comments than the one listed in this post I wouldn't mind giving people backlinks if they actually read my article and provided feedback! Is it really that difficult to reinterpret what I wrote?

I hate the comment spams that criticize your site:

Way terrible doodlings. You seem to possess amazing full understanding of the thing that is being discussed about but you don't reinforce your philosophy. What is the intention of even owning a weblog like this?

I guess Akismet was made for a reason Mean old spammers. I guess the idea is that I'll approve the comment just to yell at them... while keeping their backlink?

    Oh, also, the:

Holy cow, the messiah of spammers! The one who will openly admit to being a spammer and continue the practice anyways!

Back on topic, I would just delete these suckers away It's not worth the time to fret over it, as they are like ants: You can kill some off, maybe even a whole colony. They'll be back though. They always come back.
