Brandable Domain Name Idea - Like Fiverr

With the huge success of Fiverr I was thinking that adding the second "r" to the end of an "er" word might become trendy for brandable domain names.

With just a quick peek I saw plenty of really good brandable .com's available. One of many examples was diggerr .com which could work for a number of themes like a new backlink checker or whatever.

The tool I used to check the availability of these names is:

Domain Suggestion Tool - NameTumbler.com

Just select the dropdown for "Words ending in -er" and add an "r" to the box named "Enter a Keyword" and select add keyword "to end". Hundreds of names are listed as available but remember to hit "more suggestions" at the bottom to get the next page of alphabetically listed domain names.

I grabbed a great one for a future project. Hope you find one too

i think fiverr's success is not because of the r or the er... its the quality of the service and content they have, they have 24x7 staff emplyed to sort everything out, they have tie-up with PayPal, they are doing brisk business. more over the idea is unique, it works, and if it would have been heyfive or hifive (thats registered i suppose), still they would have been doing good, because they are not dependent upon creating backlinks for their sites, because when ever people share their gigs, its automatically done for them

    Hope you understand
Another Popular example I found was zomato.com, this website rates restro's in popular cities in india, earlier called foodiebay, now zomato, so does the name has a big deal?

    • She's not saying that adding another "r" will make a site successful.

She's saying that since Fiverr paved the way and is well-known, you can create a brandable (meaning memorable) domain by using that same syntax.

Brandable domain names aren't any better than any others unless you work very hard at associating your brand with something of value to the niche.

I think a better way to go is to use your niche keywords in the domain name so that (1) prospects understand quickly what your business is all about, (2) your SERPs get ranked higher in the competition, and (3) prospects that try to type your name in their search bar have a higher chance of finding your site.

I'm not saying that branding is bad - I believe everybody ought to work at branding their business regardless of the name or web site.

Fiverr is branded well because of what they do and how they have promoted their business. Having double rr's at the end of their name has nothing to do with their success.

you should be careful with that specially if the existed domain is without the one more r. Otherwise, you will be driving free traffic

fiverr went for two r as the one r probably wasn't available. which they bought that domain this year for 70 k

A Unique brand name will play a vital role if your site gets popular someday. Its also not much difficult to find the domain as its your choice and no1 will be searching for it.
But to get a good brand name is tough to find, I tried searching it many time for my firm and spent hell lot of time to find.

Branding is a highly subjective field. If the product is good it becomes the brand, case in point is Google, youtube, etc...

They look good in hindsight but would you think were brandable before they were a brand?

    If that makes sense
