How do I choose a niche?

You must have heard this question a lot of times before but I'm still stuck at this spot. I don't know which niche to pick. I keep reading that pick the niche which interests you and you can write well. Honestly, there is nothing that I can keep writing on and on about. I don't have money to start an adwords campaign. I am motivated to work but I don't know what to work on. Can someone please suggest me a way? I don't want to get into MMO or IM as I believe it to be a niche filled with lies. I don't want to cheat people. Any advice would be welcome.

There are millions of niches outside of the IM or MMO. You have to do the keyword research to find a niche that people are searching for and that has a profitable product to promote. Start there with the keyword research and product research. When you find something to choose, start building a site for it.

Here's a huge list of niches I've put together

Wow, what an awesome list here!

Only is more than enough to start!

Another way to find out what is popular is go to Amazon and look for bestsellers...

    Ali:

Get into one or all of the "ever green" niches: 1. Health 2. Wealth 3. Happiness/Love

These are not fads and will be in demand until the sun doesn't shine.

These niches are HUGE and there's an endless supply of micro-niches. From Health you can drill down to the Type-1 diabetic (or whatever you are interested in writing about since you are not willing to pay someone to write for you).

Think of a niche that would be eager to solve a problem. Or, some niche that are "addicts," i.e. golfers, crafters, women who love bags, etc.

Easier yet, what makes YOU "tick" and want to buy something? What kind of ads/words do you hear/read that make you want to check it out and maybe buy it?

For example, just by reading your post, what if I told you:

Are you a beginning internet marketer?
Are you confused about which niche to market, or just plain where to begin?
Don't have the time or money to try your luck with AdWords?

Well, what if I told you that within 1 day, you will:

-learn how to choose a niche without doing a lot of research, if any!
-learn where to find affiliate products to promote (and these places are newbie friendly)
-learn how to find keywords that are easier to rank for
-learn how to put up a simple FREE webpage that converts into sales
-learn 2 simple (and FREE) ways of getting visitors to that page

...and easily put all of it in action with a simple 2-page .pdf step-by-step guide with pictures?

Keep searching for the internet for answers and you will be more confused with all the unproven information out there.

    Here's a special offer:

For the first 15 "action oriented" customers, you will get this delivered to you instantly for $7.95. The next 20 customers will get it for $12.95. And the 21st customer on will get it at still a great price of $17.00.

Get this now! You will not regret it.

If you would buy this product, you have just found a niche to market to, and you didn't even have to do research.

You sounded pretty eager to solve a problem you're having right now and that's when people are willing to buy their solution, if that solution hits all right buttons.

Hope that made sense and keep going. It'll get easier with repetition.

    Happy Holidays!

You should choose based on your expertise or interest in the niche. With expertise and interest it will be easy for you to add value for the viewers. Without offering real value, your profits won't be long-lasting and you will waste your time.

I think you can do well in a niche that you are interested in even if you have no expertise. However, you have to have the patience to learn everything you can about it. I know this may go against what a lot of people may think, but sometimes you just need to start running with a niche and see where it takes you. I have fallen into interesting niches over the years by opportunities that have presented themselves without knowing anything about them. If it interests you you will figure it out, if not you will probably burnout quick and lose interest.

sbuciarel gave an excellent list of potential niches.
Just look through the list and you can surely find
several niches that appeal to you and that you enough
    expertise to write in.
Once you've settled on a niche, then locate one or more
products that you can start to promote.
You can then begin to put up your own website, or
if money is tight you can use a free web 2.0 property.
    It's pretty straightforward, just don't over-analyze it...
rather, start to take action NOW!!

I'm new to the forum. I spent about 3 whole days brainstorming and trying to figure out what I think might be interesting to work on. What worked for me was downloading a couple of free WSO's in order to see what kind of topics were being discussed. Also i'll give you 3 starting points:
      1. See what people are asking questions about
      2. Interview some people who may have expertise in the niche you become interested in.
      3. Find a free WSO with niche topics
