Finally Making Money on 7 Search! 3 Major Mistakes I was Making

Ok I have to admit 7 search really annoyed me for years and anytime I tried a campaign there I would get tons of clicks and absolutely NO CONVERSIONS...then I read a post here and got some ideas, and realized I was doing it ALL WRONG - so here are the 3 MAJOR mistakes I made and the reason why I never made money on 7search:

1. I used to upload thousands of keywords to 7search and try running it with offers that required a purchase or more than a 1 page form - let's be clear, in my opinion their traffic STILL SUCKS - but they do convert on freebies and very minimal participation - so CPA is key

2. I was not tracking subids! (of referrers) This was a huge problem - I finally started tracking subids in my tracking202 (you have to request access from 7search admin) I ended up finding referrers who were sending me the majority of the traffic and they never got 1 conversion even for a simple email submit! So I blocked them

3. I thought more keywords would result in more traffic but thats not the case exactly - I started a simple CPA freebie campaign (email submit) with 4 keywords highly focussed and ended up making $20 profit in 1 day - so I thought hey I will just add 2000 more keywords - well for some reason this caused the campaign to only about double the traffic LOL - (not sure why) - and I think its because they factor in your daily budget with the amount of keywords in your campaign and then spread out impressions....

Anyway...I always was a non believer, but now I think there is money to be made....

Recap:
1. pick an extremely low participation CPA offer
2. track subids of referrers
3. Pick only about 20 - 50 highly targeted keywords and DL to the CPA offer....

That's a nice case study for those who thinks 7 search sucks. They provide so many options for you to track and test your campaigns and even block traffic sources. There are doing every thing they can for you to make money. It's your mistake if you are not taking advantage of those options

Thanks for sharing buddy, keep up the good work

I'm glad you find what works for you the best... I also think you have some valid advices there... although some of them are known for a long time, like good keyword research, split testing of various ads with different data, and of course, the fact that's always easier to convert something that's free (or at least it seems free)...

Anyway, now you have your success blueprint, I hope you'll manage to earn much more than $20 per day

Yes this is true, I think the main take away here for anyone is the #2 - tracking subids with tracking202 - although it may be "known for a long time" most newbies and even a few seasoned PPC folks would have no idea that the majority of their traffic is coming from 1 subid that doesn't convert...

    Thanks for sharing your mistakes.

Is the cost of traffic the same regardless of what keywords you choose? i.e. if you choose long tail keywords, are they as costly as short tail keywords.

How much did you spend to make $20 profit in 1 day?

Thanks for info, I have dabbled in 7Search myself for a while. I use it more for my Offline Business clients than myself and had some success. Its just another tool....in the toolbelt.
