Selling lists?

Is it normal practice for IM'er's to sell their email lists?

I have an email account that I was trying to keep clean, I subscribed to only two lists with this particular account. One was a warrior here, and the other was an IM'er who's blog I found whilst searching online. Nobody else has this email address.

Now I'm getting trashy spam email offers from anonymous marketers who don't include an unsubscribe option or an address in their emails. It's really irritating.

When I subscribe to someones email list, I expect to only here from them.

    I would say that any reputable IM'er would never sell their list.

    I would report those emails to your ISP as spam and block them since you can't unsubscribe.

    I find that when people do this, they really are not helping themselves.

    I just don't know what some people are thinking.
