New territory for me, what to do? Helping competition?

Ok... here's the deal. I'm an amazon affiliate and this is in relation to my top earning site... it's an appliance.

Recently, I contacted the manufacturer of my top selling unit... they're not a huge company by the looks of it. They do seem to have a good budget though, as they have a really cheesy infomercial... and say they've a new one in the pipeline....

I asked for permission to use a couple of pics.

They were more than happy, and, I guess, after seeing my site, have come back to me looking for advice on how to promote their site... oooo, "a business opportunity... cha ching!" I first thought.

Anyway.... I'm looking for some advice from seasoned warriors on how best to exploit this opportunity... and a few questions/concerns...

1) While they're not a review site, like me, they're still in direct competition for many long tail keywords... should I be helping them?

2) I'm thinking I could offer them seo services from here and fiverr... backlinking, video creation, ppc... anything else?

They basicly look like an operation with cash, but no real know how on promoting themselves online.

So... basically I'm just looking for some advice on what you'd do in this situation...

Oh, one other thing... the particular product of theirs I'm promoting on amazon, is around 20% cheaper on amazon than on their site...

Cheers.

I'd be inclined to turn it over to some real pros and take a commission for setting up the deal.

Any recommendations? How much commission is fair? 25%?

That said... they'd be in direct competition for my traffic on google....

Hmmm.... would this be shooting myself in the foot?

That said, anyone who ends up on their site who got there searching "best" or "reviews" would probably leave, as it's not impartial....

Find out what they need and how much they are willing to pay. Then you have to judge for yourself what would make more sense.
