Newbie question from a newbie

Is it worth joining blog networks that have sites like so: bhmeteo.com/ ?

An article submitted to sites like this will be on the home page for only so long. I don't think it would hurt matters, but I am uncertain on whether to pay a monthly fee to participate in someone else blog network when I can simply construct my own.

You can construct your own but you won't have the advantage of the age of the domains, page rank value and the number of blogs in the network. My advice is to make a top 5 list of blog networks and pick #1. I assume you are doing this as part of your SEO strategy?

Yes, I am in the process of ranking my home page for 3 very similar and competitive keywords. After 5 weeks I'm between 50 and 60 on Google for each. My goal is number 1 for each of the keywords after 12 weeks of implementing what I set out to do, and so far I'm happy with the progress. I have not included blog networks because I haven't felt the need for them and feel I can accomplish my goals without them. But I run across these sites quite often while researching, so I'm thinking.

Do you always use blog networks to rank, James?

I don't use blog networks. I use forum, and article marketing.

I wouldn't pay any money. I get sites to page one of google all the time in a week or so using all free methods.

There are some tricks to the trade: here are a couple of them that I've posted here before.

Write a couple high quality articles about your niche that don't sounds salesy with no live links in them and that have never been posted before, post them on Qondio.com and ideamarketers.com.

Make sure you connect the Qondio.com site to your site as per their instructions for the backlinks.

If the title is good and so is the article, it will get picked up and syndicated all over.

Make sure to have your site link in the bio and make sure the share requirements say without alteration and must include bio.

Ping all that once it is up.
