From your experience can you tell me which is the best site that I can use to outsource a site creation? I don't have time to write the content and design it so I am looking for a good place to find people..

I tried Freelancer but I got ripped off big time 250$ and lost 200 on adwords..

I used Elance.com to find an editor for an ebook and had a great experience. I just hired a freelancer to create a video for me and so far I have no complaints.

Just be sure to check their stats and make sure they have a history of good reviews. I prefer a history of a year or two at least.

Elance has all of this information; including the percentage of repeat business. That is a major statistic for me.

Not to sound cliche, but try our Warrior Products and Services and go to Warriors for hire. There are a full array of Warriors that will do what you're looking for and at competitive prices.

Fiverr is also a great source for outsourcing. You just had to spend some time searching and you may get some very cheap and good gigs.

erm, can i spoil this discussion and say "just list your favorite outsourcing site and why"

Because every site wil have their own scammers, different people will have different experience with different Outsourcing sites.

Most of them have escrow service, but if u dont use them and get scammed later on then its just ur luck.

No point saying Site "ABC" is not good or is a scam.

Unless their system is bad enough to attract scammers. then we have something to talk about here.

Odesk works for me. I've done hourly and fixed priced projects with no problems. I always check their work history and performance feedback. I get really good deals with quality work from people with little hours. Most of them will give you a good rate because they want to increase their hours and positive reviews. This, in turn, will get them more jobs.

For site design, there are a bunch of talented designers here on the forum. Check the "warriors for hire" section. Alternatively, you can take a look at 99designs.com. A bit pricey, but you can have many designers compete for your project by submitting several versions of your design requirements.

It's not where you outsource it's who you hire.
Interviewing a potential worker is the most important thing to do before hiring anybody. I noticed almost all providers from India say "We can do it, we fix it etc. Well if you believe them, they can do everything!. Then when you hire them it's 9 out of 10 times not as easy as they thought and you get deadline issues. And in the end, they cancel. Yes you got your money back, but you also lost valueble time.

Anyway, I work a lot with Elance en Vworker.
I don't believe people on their word, I don't hire new people (not even if they say they are the best etc.) And in my opinion, quality work just costs a bit more.

Note: What if you had your own company. Would you hire the same person to work in your office?

    Use elance,

I have a team of about 10 people there that work for me pretty much full time.

See how I said that word 'team'

That is the secret to outsourcing and will erode your bad luck experiences.

    1) Find workers on elance

    2) Keep the good ones, and add them to your team

    3) reward them, and give them better money incentives. Keep them close to you.

    4) You will be able to sort the wheat from teh chaff pretty quick here, and build a very highly reliable team of workers, on demand at any time of the day or night.

Ok it might take you a bit of testing, and cost a bit of money, but within a few months you are going to have a kick ass team of people that can help you grow your business and help you increase your sales.

I just like Elance as you can be picky, and not select people that are newbies...and have actual good feedback from other outsourcers. You have to be picky and selective. That is key.

Hope this helps, and hope you have better luck soon.

Elance is not good, since there are Outsourcing firms who display themselves as "individuals." Never hire an someone who works for an outsourcing firm... they work for the firm, not for you.

I have used a lot of different sites and never been burned. Elance.com, guru.com, scriptlance and even fiverr.com. Celente gave some great advise. First you need to be really picky. Check out the people that are bidding on your job. I know a lot of people that just go with the cheapest bid and that's not what you want to do. Look at their samples and website. Look at their reviews. Find the best person and make a smart decision.

Next you need to be very specific about what you want done. It has been my experience that people don't communicate this well enough with their initial job posting. The good freelancers will be the ones who ask you a lot of questions about what you want and need. The better information that you give them about your project and needs the better results you'll have.

Alot of times if I'm working with someone new, I might set them up with a really small job first to get a feel for how they work and operate. Do they ask the right questions? Do they keep post with their progress? Do they deliver the work on time? Is the work they've done great? Does it blow me away? If it does then I move on to bigger projects and I add them to a list of freelancer that I will use again in the future. Or my team.

Good luck in your future endeavors!

Thanks ted, and good advice there.

Intead of just write what we want done....I use camtasia video and just show them directly live and tell them what is going on and what we want and how we want things done. This is very powerful.

It only takes 2 minutes of your time to do. But We have found doing this, 90% of the time the workers know what is happening and do an even better job.

When someone told me about doing this, and sending your outsourcees live video, I jumped on it straight away. You can educate them quickly and make sure they understand exactly what you want them to do.

PRICELESS,... so maybe you can try this too. We have had a lot of success with this.

Ted thanks for the advice. Great tips to keep in mind. I use Odesk to write my articles for me. Had one incident where my order was not completed after a week. When I informed the help desk the matter was resolved quickly. It is important though that you have to stipulate in precise detail beforehand what you require.

Outsourcing a firm is always a best option. Supervisors and team leaders manage your staff daily. These superiors always check their staff output to ensure utmost productivity and high quality work.

Thank you guys, great replies! I want an out sourcing company to create a website for me ( wordpress or Joomla) I like Joomla for some reason but I don't mind wordpress.. I already have a website but I need to change the approach, now I will be offering the products for free in the unlock / Jailbreak iPhone niche.. I know its for free all over the internet but alot of people used to pay me to do it and provide support if they run into issues since they don't want to read and jump from a forum to a forum.. now this niche is dead since Apple fixed the unlock issue, yesterday there was a release that the new iphone 4s is unlockable but I don't want to charge money any more, I want to provide the service for free..

I am not sure if anybody here can do it, I prefer to pick someone from this forum since alot of people have a good reputation.. but I want person/company to collect all the information on how to unlock / jailbreak any iphone or ipad module.. I can do it my self but I don't have time..so its not only writing the content.. the person would have to go and look for each iphone module and get the solution based on the iphone/ipad baseband.. few members messaged me and asked me for the requirements...

    Thanks again!

You might be surprised to hear that the burning goes both ways. I'm a web developer and have been on freelancing sites for years, and oDesk is definitely the best by far.
I've tried paying ones Elance/Guru etc but quit those pretty quickly (I found it easier to find work on oDesk than Elance).

I've worked on both sides of the oDesk - Freelance and Client, so I know how frustrating it can be. I can worked with some amazing freelancers on there though - so don't give up.

I've had a few clients who were difficult to deal with, refuse to pay etc through these sites as well. The important thing to remember is that a lot of legitimate business and freelancers are on all of these sites - you just have to be careful to screen out the bad ones.

I won't post an application to anything that has:
    EVERYTHING IN CAPS
    Short descriptions
Ridiculous budget (either way - too high or too low)
    Bad spelling/grammar.
Extremely high/weird requirements (ie: I want full access to your website before I will consider your application)

You have to remember that good freelancers will not bid on your project if they think:
    1 - it's a scam
    2 - a waste of time (eg: $50 for a e-commerce website)
3 - You are not clear in your description
    4 - You are insulting/rude

Ask them to describe the development process in detail - if they can't do that, then decline them. You can then use these responses to filter out which ones don't know what they're doing.
Good freelancers will also offer suggestions/improvements.
Check their work history, but don't rely on it. If they have bad history, ask why - they could have had a difficult client.

And I think the most important thing is to set the budget correctly - Sure, you can get 200 proposals for a full e-commerce websites for $50, but I guarantee the quality and experience will turn you away from outsourcing. Most freelancers who put pride and value into their work won't bother bidding on a project like that.

oDesk has the benefit of taking screenshots of the worker's computer so you can see what they are working on to make sure they aren't wasting your time.

99 Designs is great because you get multiple designs to consider.

Or go with Wordpress and a professional template. More control and you can update it yourself.
