Hello again Warriors,

Thanks everyone for the feedback I got when I asked what software to use to create videos and yes I agree I didn,t really ask the right question..

I want to make videos of myself talking and also of what I do on the pc..Tutorial kind of videos..Step by step stuff..screenshots, audio etc..

Whats the best software for that guys..Rob Jones suggested Sony Vegas..

Thanks all the same guys for your time..

Sony Vegas is a good Editor for pulling in Camtasia-like PC captures and mixing them with live video of yourself yes.

Drives me nuts that Camtasia itself hasn't improved its editor to make this easier and more feature-rich (allowing multiple video tracks on timeline wold be REALLY useful).

You can also do this with Microsoft Windows Live Movie Maker (Live is what is available for Windows 7).

I just put together a series of videos for our members where I captured myself, did a bunch of Camtasia captures and mixed them in Windows Live Movie Maker. But because Movie Maker only exports to WMV or AVI, you have to run the WMV/AVI through a converter to get it into FLV, SWF or MP4 format - found a free one of those as well that does a great job.

I recommend using Camtasia in conjunction with sony Vegas. I have been using both for 2 years now and am very happy with them. Also, check out adobe after affects for cool video intros.

If you're going to use Sony Vegas to edit the video, you could save yourself come money and get CamStudio (CamStudio - Free Screen Recording Software). It's a free, open source screen recorder.

I agree with jbsmith that some extra features in camtasia would be nice. However, by keeping the features limited, it remains very easy to use. Sony Vegas is very powerful and you can create some awesome effects - but it takes time to learn. I'd start with camtasia or movie maker and move up to sony vegas if you need its features.
