Learning The Basics - Free Course On HTML & CSS

Despite what a lot of sales pages tell you, a good grounding in the basics of using the medium you are seeking to earn your living in - the internet - is pretty essential (IMHO)

Without knowing the basics of even HTML & CSS you are constantly going to run up against frustrating problems. Even if you outsource you will spend money and waste time which a little education could save you from.

I found an excellent, easy to follow, FREE, basic course from Tuts+ that most people could follow:
30 Days to Learn HTML & CSS - Free Tuts+ Premium Course

It's not that difficult, honest!

    Thanks Rob. I understand basic HTML but CSS is a complete mystery to me. Dreamweaver forces me to use CSS, and I just click OK without knowing what I am doing. It will be nice to be able to understand what is going on. I think I will start on this tomorrow. It is almost my bed time now.

      I find it suprising how many people I talk to who learned HTML a few years ago but either felt they couldn't get to grips with CSS, were intimidated by it or just couldn't be bothered.

      The truth is learning and using CSS is a hell of a lot easier to manage than all those nested HTML tables we used to have to deal with!

      I think the Video series I linked to really makes it easy for beginners with a smattering of HTML to understand how HTML has changed and how simple CSS can make things.

      It's certainly amazing for a FREE course and as Kyle points out, w3school may be an excellent resource but nothing beats video when teaching something like this.
