From google fingers to our eyes:

"Given the incredibly fast pace at which information moves in today's world, the most recent information can be from the last week, day or even minute, and depending on the search terms, the algorithm needs to be able to figure out if a result from a week ago about a TV show is recent, or if a result from a week ago about breaking news is too old."

In a few recent searches I discovered the specific terms I searched for yielded current results I wanted but those were often ranked lower than results for the same term that were posted 2-3 years ago.

The older "results" were no longer valid as info in the field has changed considerably...but they were still ranking high. Makes sense to me google can see that happening and is making changes to correct it.

I don't spend time worrying about google updates. Unless you are using techniques that game google's system - you just adapt to change and keep going.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.
