I was looking at how to reward people for coming back to my site, reading/sharing blog posts, buying products etc.

I heard about BigDoor and I'm playing with it now (not putting it on my site yet)

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Does anyone know of other companies that do this or have similar widgets to install on my site?
This is a totally new concept to me but I really like the idea, I would love ideas and feedback form someone else who is more familiar or does something similar with their website.

Gamification is really going to blow up in 2012.

I have heard good stuff about Badgeville. Look them up. I don't have much experience with their solution or BigDoor's for that matter.

Just another way to get people to TALK about your website, service, or product. IF you have to award people "points" to share your content so be it.

The ultimate goal of any marketer is to get people to react and actively discuss what they are marketing. How you get to that goal matters not, the results however, do.

Would be great to hear from anyone who has experience implementing gamification into their internet marketing and how they did it.

I haven't worked with either company. I did interview Kris Duggan (founder of Badgeville) though.

Go to google and google (foundville + badgeville) to watch the interview to see what he has to say about Badgeville.

He's a great guy, and a lot of incredibly smart entrepreneurs have recommended him and Badgeville to me which is why I interviewed him on foundville. Seems like a real standup guy, and he's had a lot of success already in his career, having sold his last startup for $5M. Great guy.
