I am newer than new!

Hi all
Just found this forum while searching an ebook topic. It quickly hit me I can certainly use help in IM. I run a new Video Production business and I do it all for the time being. I have been able to get my site on the first page with a number of search entries by using a MAC SEO tool.
I do not like relying on something that I really do not totally understand so I will hang awhile and see if this old tired brain mass can absorb some good info.

I read another post about how to best take advantage of the info here and I will try it out.

I am sure I will be back with questions. Feel free to ask me any if you have them. I have shocked myself a few times in the last 53 years.

      Don't laugh but I am still using iWeb for my website. I intend to go with Wordpress when I have enough time to learn a whole new approach.
      The SEO software is called iWeb SEO TOOL. Do not remember the company name but I will take a peek and let you know. it does a very good job. I also use a program called Rage sitemap automator. That does a good job making sure Google and the other engines crawl your site. It adds a correctly formatted index file and they also include a keyword tool that will suggest which keywords to use on your particular site.

      Forgot to mention I am a budding new/old author. The new is the author part and the old...well it is just me.

    You don't sound newer than new! "SEO" "first page of google" "website creation" "crawling" "keyword suggestion" Took me MONTHS to figure out what all those things were! Sounds like you just need to read a few ebooks and you will be well on your way! Good luck!

    It sounds like you have already read some getting started tips which is good.

    I hope the included reading all the forum rules so that you don't unintentionally do something you shouldn't. ;-)

    New, you say? Well, that MAC SEO tool must be a super tool if you got ranked for keywords already

    How competitive were they?

    If you're promoting your video production business locally, it should be pretty easy. And, if that's the case, you're set, baby Go out there and rank "wedding video production in ________" or something similar to that. Think of what specifically your customers would be looking for when looking for you, i.e. video editing service in ________, or flat fee videographers in __________, etc.

    You should be able to rank for these keywords, especially since your site is theme oriented.

    WOW I can't believe the response. Thanks everyone. I do feel very welcome here. I have posted on a number of forums and I have to admit the only time I received response like this is when I may have said something that maybe others did not like.

    lisakynan... you are right I have been working at it for a minute but I rely too much on a push of a button or an application to do the work. I guess it could be good for time vs. pay but I always seem to want to know why things work and what makes them work that way. This is truly helpful when you just have to plain do it yourself!

    I find I am always lagging way behind technology. The bummer is I love technology and I try to embrace it. Mentally I struggle to keep up.

    I sometimes feel newer than new because memory (my noggin) fails me too often and I need to keep doing something to remember the finer points.

    I found this forum by chance and I really think it will be a great addition to my future endeavors. I will join the War Room after the holidays. I can't wait to see what it has to offer.

    For those who are also new here I will try to help in any way I can. I may not get on here every day but I will try to keep a close watch as best I can.

    One of my biggest shortcomings is that I do not utilize social media sites or forums as one should. I find that I get started but then fall off and find that I do not visit or work them as one should.

    Again, I have to say this has to be the best welcome I have ever received from a forum.

    Thanks all and please do not be afraid to ask me for help. I will gladly do my best to offer any bit of knowledge I have, if I remember
