Site Flipping Advice

INTERNET MARKETING

So I have a site that I have developed and I think I would like to flip it. I believe for the right person it could make alot of money.

The site is YouTube Guitar Blog

I have been posting free guitar video lessons from youtube for a little while now.

Anyways, for flipping purposes, what is the best way to maximize the value for the site in order to sell it?

I haven't monetized the site since I started it. I put some aff link ads in it yesterday so the new owner could see where they go, but other than that, I haven't really done anything. For awhile there I was getting 150+ unique hits a day without any promotion beyond a few youtube videos.

What do you guys suggest?

ok I've just done some keyword research and found over 74,000 searches for youtube guitar with no competition.

Is this a good thing?

You could put a guitar "Master Course" together and sell that on your site. Get a little DVD cover made and put it "above the fold". Then make sure you tell potential buyers that the product comes with the site.

Anything that is going to make money month after month with little work is what buyers love. And I would point that out in the auction. You could say, "I got a lot of requests for an advanced course, so I created this product, etc."

By the way, you have the word Youtube in your domain name. Youtube is a registered trademark, so that may be trouble down the road.

Most all potential buyers are going to want to see traffic an income stats. from my experience and then usually base a price off that. An industry stand seems to be from 6-12 X income.

so you would suggest work on getting traffic to the site and a few aff sales and then list it as an established site vs listing it as new...

  I don't know who your asking. I mentioned my experience in selling some sites last year, not flipping, just getting rid of some. Every one asked for traffic and income stats. Obviously the more traffic and/or income you have, the more they will be worth. It you can sit on them. It would cost next to nothing to keep them.
