Google Webmaster Tools Site Verification Trouble

Hello warriors,

I am having the worst time trying to get my wordpress blogs verified on google webmaster tools. I have tried everything from google analytic's verification method in which google is tracking my site through analytic's right now, meta tag, and html file upload to my root directory. Nothing seems to work and all it says when I try to verify it is unable to verify site. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I tried it on some of my other sites and it still doesnt work on them. Please let me know do you think it might have something to do with me using Go Daddy Hosting account because it has been a nightmare in general using there hosting account for wordpress sites. I am going to switch to cpanel soon!!! Please let me know if anyone has suggestion and could help me.

Thanks
Mike

The html file has always worked for me. Have you actually tried pulling the file in your browser? Make sure it is sitting in the root of your domain. Make sure that you can pull it up. I have a client who has godaddy as their hosting and webmaster verification has gone through just fine. My guess is that your blog settings redirect all access to your blog. You might have to remove the .htaccess(on Linux hosting) or web.config (on Windows/ASP) hosting verify access, then put the .htaccess/web.config file back.

I just figured it out it was something messed up with my theme and google wasn't able to find my meta tag.

    Thanks
