What are the 3 Stages in Internet Marketing?

Hello fellow Warriors!

What are the 3 Stages in Internet Marketing, is the question. Let me, explain.

Not all IM strategies are en masse, regardless of what many of the IM books and videos tell us. For instance, you wouldn't tell a newb, who is very green in this field, to jump right in to PPC or SEO- a lot of money would be lost. That would be for maybe the moderate and advanced.

So, what is your suggestion for where an IMer should start getting their feet wet, and why?

Stage #1: Newb
Stage #2: Moderate
Stage #3: Advanced

Looking forward to your input!

Peace.

    Let me start:

When I was first introduced to IM, Google Adsense and PPC was HUGE! I bought the $17 e-book and another $97.00 course on how to "easily" master these arts.

Quickly, I realized this wasn't easy and there were layers and layers behind PPC. No one told me that split testing was very important for PPC. I just found keywords and started promoting my affiliate product- I did what they told me to do and I waited for the flood of orders to come in... needless to say, I was out $100's of dollars and made 1 sale. Not a good investment and it deflated my ideas of making money online.

PPC: Stage #2 and #3 Only

Adsense was the same way. I built all these "cash" blogs that were in very low competition niches. I added my adsense to the blogs and waited for the money to roll in over-night. I woke up with, I think it was .55 cents. The books and courses forgot to explain about traffic, ranking, and SEO. Duh, you need traffic in order for people to know your blogs exist, and in order for viewers to click through the Adsense advertisements.

Needless to say, I was in the negative and was not making any real money. Another epic fail in my life.

ADSENSE: Stage #1 and Stage #2. Blogging is easy - but you will need to learn how to drive quality traffic and get rankings in the top search engines.

    This is my feedback

    1) Find a person with a need or a want and figure out how to solve that problem for them at a profit
    2) Build systems that help you find lots more of those people and deliver said solution to bigger audience
    3) Do it again, faster, larger, more

      Hi Michael!
Good stuff here. Straight to the point- Staying focused on a need and continue to build off that need. Gang, see how smart he is? And I was always taught to do a method for a time. Then, when you are seasoned, buy into a different method. So on, and so on.

      I have been schooled

I once heard that described as: Find out what sh1t people want... find the sh1t... and sell it back to them.

      FWIW...

      Identify a system
      Educate yourself.
      Apply what you've learnt.
      Leverage and scale it.

aka The IDEAL way to do it.

Hi As far as my experience starts from a sensation story of one of my friend. He told me that we can make money online. All we need to do is understand the market, the demand and supply (economics rule ).
Stage I: I started with affiliate marketing and i choose that product which is a shopping product. In other words a product which usually people buys. I thought i can sell it easily. Though percentage or commission was less but at least i can got some sales which motivates me.
Stage II: I came up with a blog and put ad sense, but it was all sucks.
Stage III: At this stage at least i have know how about all hot issues and services, so i started giving small services to the interested clients.
    That is all :-)

If there is one thing I have learned it is that there is no magic bullet!

To succeed in IM, it takes a will, and then you need to find a way!

The way is Article Marketing and SEO. SEO is the main tool; and the word SEO encompasses many techniques and methods. Its a trial by error process.

Some techniques that work for one niche may not work for another(selling techniques).

List building is essential. Possibly think about doing Adswaps to get the most out of your list.

What works for one newbie might leave another cold.

Some people love focusing on direct selling because that's their personality - that would have killed me when starting out.

The areas in which you are comfortable...that's from where the stages should begin.

    Personally, for me, I think:

1.) Understanding Authority (social marketing, forum participation, etc.)

is the main key, followed by:

    2.) Affiliate Marketing

    3.) Product Creation

I myself started in SEO (been doing it since 1997, back when Infoseek did realtime indexing).

    Hope that helps!

It doesn't matter what you start with, if you are brand new, start with one of something. The key words are START and ONE.

It can be one blog, one micro niche site, one ebay auction, one affiliate promotion, one PPC campaign. The goal is to take it from start to finish and make it profitable.

You will learn so much more by picking a business model, learning the ins and outs, and making it profitable.

Once you've made one thing profitable, make something else profitable.

I only know 2 stages to Internet marketing...

    1) Connect to the Internet
    2) Market

OK - I know that isn't what you were asking but I couldn't resist.

There have actually been some good replies. There are probably more people familiar with the stages for Internet marketing failure than there are for how to succeed. To succeed I think there are so many different individual paths it would be hard to generalize. People come to this cyber world with a vast amount of differences in resources, time, skill levels, personal drive and on and on.

From a top 2% Earner to You!

1). Learn the skills necessary to do scalable advertising like PPC, SEO, and Article Marketing and position yourself behind a funded proposal.

2). Take massive action everyday using the skills you learned everyday by following an income producing activities guide.

3). Once you begin to see success, begin to upscale the marketing by outsourcing articles and increasing daily spending limits for PPC ads and creating more SEO lead magic sites to draw more and more traffic to your main site.

Here is the BIG HINT behind the three tips: MASTER KEYWORD RESEARCH!!!!

For most, the 3 stages are...

1- unrealistic expectations of easy money.

2- Max out the credit card and flush big bucks down the toilet.

3- Quit and go back to work.
