How to do SEO for YouTube Videos?

Hi,

I started with video marketing and I was struggling with the SEO here.

How can I do keyword research for YouTube videos?

And how to check the competition? For example if I want to check the number of back links of a competing video, most of the time they gave me the total back links to the complete YouTube site.

Can you maybe give me some tips and tricks about this?

    Are you talking about SEO in Google or in YouTube search itself? You can look up the backlinks to an individual page via Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch or any other free tools very easily. Make sure you put in the entire URL of the page on youtube/video you want to check (it doesn't matter if you leave the "&feature/embedded" crap on there).

    SEO in YouTube is not unlike doing it for Google. Do your keyword research as usual, find your keyword which you have a shot at ranking for and use it in the title, description, and tags of the video. Make your video a response to a related video for more views. Include a link to your relevant post or content in the description on the first line (above the fold). Make it high quality to enjoy a good rating (this plays a role both on YouTube and off of it).
