Paid Traffic - Learning to play with the big boys!

We all tend to fall into our preferred way of making money and just hang out there because its safe and reliable. But that may be holding us back.
I've recently met a couple people who pull down massive cash with paid traffic. But they are somewhat vague as to how they do it. Which I can understand I guess.
Common sense states { that x amount of money = x amount of traffic = X amount of conversion } The recipe for predictable cash online.
What im not looking for is CPC or Google adword stuff!!! I'm looking for the big time 10g's a day or more kind of stuff.

I want to turn this up to 11. I'm just not sure where to start.
Any recommended legit resources would be appreciated.
