Do We Need All The Plugins?

Almost Every Day I have received warriors'email promoting "A BRAND NEW FULLY POWERFUL PLUGIN" to increase Rank, Traffic, FB, etc.
Since I am still a newbie that make just a little money, I want to ask,
# Do We really need all those plugin to make money?
# What plugin actually I have mandatory use to my WP blog?

    I would say you don't HAVE to have all these plugins but they do help speed things up and make tasks easier. The auto blog/auto linking/auto anything plugins I usually leave alone as I like to be in control of what gets posted to my blog and where I get backlinks from. But other plugins like the ones that help you optimize your posts or the ones that help you add links or pics or videos, those are helpers. All In One SEO, Clickbump, Google Sitemaps, Pretty Links, etc are good ones.

    There are great plugins and plugins that are not so great. Plugins can automate tedious tasks or do things that your blog wouldn't be able to do without them. There are even affiliate plugins that automatically set up an affiliate program for your own products. Wordpress is pretty dull without great themes and plugins. I'm a plugin junkie.

    No - we don't need every plugin under the sun. You just need the ones that really help you to accomplish your goals.

    Just yesterday, I uninstalled 2 x plugins that I felt were not earning their keep. But I have a number that I would not be without.

    You don't need all of them.. Just choose the best for me where you are comfortable using it and gives you a great performance plugin.

    One underated plugin I wouldn't do without is "invisible captcha". So simple yet so effective.

    I've noticed a few of the WSO paid plugins do pretty much what some of the free ones do! It's amazing what's out there when you search.

    For my money, you need Akismet and All in One SEO. Both are free. Any other plugins you install would be specific to a particular blog, or would relate to blog security.

    You don't need every plugin out there. Indeed, you need to be wary of installing too many. I go through my blogs and weed out plugins every six months or so.

    Re WSOs and "A BRAND NEW FULLY POWERFUL PLUGIN"... :-)

    If you need it, you need it. When you're considering a new plugin, make a WRITTEN list of things the plugin will do for your blog. Is this plugin essential for your blog right now?

    Then ask someone who's doing what you want to do with your blog, whether you need the plugin. In essence, you're looking for reasons not to buy. :-)

    Sadly, a plugin isn't a magic wand. You need content, targeted traffic, and conversions more than you need a new plugin.

    Plugins are tools, and that is how any website operator should look at a plugin, its a tool, if a tool works to help you do your job better, and it saves you time and money then that is a good tool, if it does not provide a substantial benefit then why use a tool that only looks good on the outside.

    That is how I look at plugins, if it helps me get the job done faster and with less work, then good, otherwise, its a waste of time and money.

    No...they become an ENDLESS DISTRACTION--shut out that distraction and concentrate on a simple system, which ever it is, and just do it...I recommend plugins that actually work, like a few SEO ones...the rest, just forget 'em, you are just asking for conflicts and wasted time and money!

    Coming from a server administrator at a major hosting company I can tell you that general;y the more wp plugins that you have, the more problems your website will have.

    Some developers put no effort in optimizing plugins for performance and it hurts your server resources. It will make your site slow, and in outrages cases Ive seen them completely destroy databases.

    Not saying that plugins are bad, but be aware of what you are using

      When I set up a new wordpress site, I usually use about 8 plugins. They are a snap to install because I just copy them in bulk from directory to directory in cpanel. They are as follows:

      1-click Retweet/Share/Like
      All in One SEO Pack
      Contact Form 7
      Google XML Sitemaps
      RSS Footer
      cbnet Ping Optimizer
      Yet Another Related Posts Plugin

      Clickbump SEO - this is the only paid plugin.

      To get all of these set up it takes about 5 minutes. I do recommend creating a process for your site setup though - streamlining that will make things much quicker!
