I use yoast.com WordPress SEO Plugin - Search Engine Optimization Plugin - Yoast that I think is the best. WordPress SEO is a complete package for the ranking of sites in WordPress that integrates:

equivalent (much better) All-in-One SEO Pack
    Robots Meta,
the integration of GWT, Yahoo! Site Explorer and Bing Webmaster tools,
    RSS footer,
    Permalink redirect,
    Canonincal URL's,
    Yoast Breadcrumbs,

They are similar. Yoast is a touch more technical and as such could be considered better - or worse - depending on what you want. AIO is simpler to 'drive'

I almost always use All In One plus about 15 other plugins which make the SEO absolutely rock solid. Dont expect All In One or Yoast to be the only SEO plugin you use

        Besides All-in-One SEO I use:

A Site Map Generator (easier for bots to crawl the page)
A Static Page Generator (for fast loading)
        A privacy policy generator
        A pop-up plugin if needed.

I'd have to look up the names of the ones I use, I don't remember them off-hand.

Also, I wouldn't add plugin after plugin thinking more is better...each plugin is another chance for something to go wrong with your site, so only use the really valuable ones.

I suspect that all in all, much depends upon how well you develop your overall SEO strategy, These days, a multi prong approach, is best, which means that a plugin is simply not enough.

The best approach would be from a global prospective, )

I prefer Yoast. All-In-One doesn't have Page Analysis capabilities, does it?

The advantage of Yoast is that it does the job of at least 3 plugins and is supposed to be a lot more efficient/lightweight compared to aioseo.

I Use All In One SEO and Vibe SEO Pack Panel for On Page SEO.

All IN ONE is great for making sure you cover every aspect of the actual search engine looking for Title, Description, and Meta Keywords.

Vibe SEO Pack Panel is free and gives you all the info you need to cover On Page SEO like Header 1, 2, 3, Bold, Italics, Local Link, Alt Image Text and Keyword Density.

You should also make sure your keyword target is in your URL.

I also use XML Sitemap plugin...as it updates your sitemap to Google, BING, and Yahoo everytime you make a change. Automatically.

As you know the rest is all about backlinks.

I am sure there are some other good WOrdPress SEO plugins. SEO Pressor looks nice...but...it's not FREE.

You can see the list of tools I use for SEO in my sig.
        Peace out.

I use Yoast mainly because it covers robots meta and XML sitemaps, so separate plugins for those aren't needed. It also does on-page SEO analysis, but I use Easy WP SEO for that, it's much more comprehensive than Yoast.

Yep, I use Yoast SEO as well. It's pretty awesome, you can set on individual posts everything SEO-related to the post - the main keyword, the meta description, keywords, title, etc. Everything is customizable and easily accesssed.

I used All In One SEO and Platinum SEO Pack before Yoast's plugin, but Yoast beats them all. Some of the other tools wouldn't let me no-index/no-archive/no-follow certain sections of my blog (categories, tags, dates, etc.), this plugin does it all.
