Why there is not a "DELETE" option??

I have one more query....

Some times it happens we make some threads which are not helpful for any body then how we can delete them??

Only admin have the rights to delete them...... if admin provide us that right then it will release some kind of pressure from him.........

Also some times we make some unusual comments and then unable to delete them.... i think if there would be an option for deleting them would be a better option......

it generally happens with newbie... they just joined this WF and make some threads or do comment and then admin will automatically delete it if he finds it unusual.... why should he not give rights to people for deleting by themselves....

please don't think that i wanting that WF would become Facebook...... m just giving my opinion......

If you make a post that is not a thread-starter, then go to Edit - Delete, then delete the post from there.

If the post is a thread-starter, report your own post by hitting the Report Button and asking the mods to delete your thread.

You can delete posts that you make, but mods only can delete a thread. If you want your own thread deleted, hit the red triangle and report the thread and tell the mod you'd like to delete it.

Thanks to the OP for asking this..I have always wondered the same thing!

...just figured it was glitch in the software, or something. Bill's answer makes obvious sense, including if it was a post that started a thread. Thanks.

from last few i am trying to find it but not get succeeded... so i decide to make a thread for it so that experts like you provide me answers.... and it really works.... m also thankful to Bills and Suzanne.....

One more thing is that if i want to remove some one else's comment from my thread then this same strategy works?

No. Only a mod can remove someone else's post. Report it with the red triangle if it is in violation of the forum rules.

Well actually, people would abuse that and the forum would actually be less useful. People would just delete posts that they don't like or from people they don't like or posts that point out that they are wrong. Sometimes the OP is the violator and it gets pointed out pretty quick.

So, no ... that wouldn't be a good idea to give posters that power. The mods do an excellent job of making those calls, and all members have to do is report posts that are in violation of forum rules or spam, etc.

  • yup..... m completely agree with you in it..........people have this mentality that if they don't like some one then they tried to bring them down........ however or wherever it is.....
