Emailing to 3,500 emails?

I have a list of 3,500+ people who joined my online service with interest in certain subject.
This list is just stored in database for people to login and communicate but system does not have any autoresponder capabilities.

Now I want to email them - but importing it to Aweber or anywhere else is close to impossible.

Any solutions on how to "inject the life" in such list?

you can add them to the likes of awber or any others.

i think they just got to confirm the add!

anyone who doesnt confirm is not worth having on you list anyway as they prob wont buy anything

    thanks

I'd love to, but the moment first email bounces - Aweber abandons the whole process and complains about list quality. I been through this a few times and never been able to complete import.

is there anyway you can PM them with a link to your Aweber? this way you can filter out those who are not active too..hope this helps.

Talk to the owners of Imnica, I think they will help you import without double opt-in. They are quite active in this forum.

Now, what's their names? Hmm... Anyone knows?

Mailchimp allows you to load a list. And its free!

      I agree.

What I would do is create an account with mailchimp and import all 3500 contacts and mail them all to opt in to your aweber list through an insentive sqeeze page you setup. All active members will join you there if you have a good relationship with your people.

Once done, stay with aWeber. You really need the reliability of aweber to contact your list further.

Then delete or leave the mailchimp account for what it is. Use it as a pass through method to filter your list for quality.

        Great, thank you.
I think off all options this sounds the most promising.

I had a similar issue with a large mailing list of 4000 people. I uploaded the list to Constant Contact and tried that for a few days. While it sent great, out of 4000 people, only 700 emails ever got opened. Made me wonder how many ended up in spam folders.... I use Aweber for everything else, but never found a great, easy option for this big list.

Couldn't you break the list down in to smaller lists, then send out your emails to each list one at a time? The bulk sender I use that is possible to do. No idea if it is with CC.

In my opinion this is an excellent idea! It's exactly what I would do.

Make them an offer they can't refuse to optin to your Aweber list by initially mailing through MailChimp.

    Hey Gleb,

My guess is that you also don't have a series of emails ready to send them, and that what you're going to want to do is simple broadcast mailing, from time to time.

    You're a php coder.
Push them up into a mySQL database, and then create a simple mailer script to :
    1) accept your mail body from a form.
    2) then read through the mySQL table (pulling the mailto address), combine it with the input from the form, and using phpmailer, send the emails directly from your own server.

    Hope this helps,

Hey Sid, good to hear from you!
PHP mailing script is indeed the simplest thing to do - the problem is deliverability result of this activity!
Unless you mean force-email them to Aweber list to initiate opt-ins...

if you are on a shared server, the deliverability is anyones guess since other people mailing from that server would have an affect on you.

another solution is to use constantcontact.com. they allow you to upload a list of clients. they will require them to "re-optin" via a confirmation email.

A non-profit I do work for, we use InternetMailmanager.com. We collect info offline: Name, Email, Address, Phone #, etc. EDIT: Whoops, had that wrong. They have a restriction on how names you can upload, but if you contact, you can have the restriction lifted. Then you can upload them all. When you upload, it asks you to label the columns in the excel file. You can then search your lists by those each of those labels (State, City, Name, Email, etc).

I don't know if 3,500 would be too much for them, but could be an option to look in to.

An update: Internet Mail Manager says you can upload 5k names before you need to call them to lift the cap. For us it was 1k, but they should be able to take 3.5K fine I assume.

They do ban "get rich quick schemes" which should be fine for me, since my WSO isn't a scheme. But for us they may not be a good outfit after all.

    Hey Gleb,

DigitalAccessPass.com (DAP) has a built-in email broadcasting system, that will allow you to send out a broadcast even to any external CSV list (without having to make them a member). All you need is a list of email ids, and you can send out a broadcast.

By default, DAP sends out the emails through your web host's local mail server. DAP also has a built-in email throttling system, as most hosts don't allow you to send over 200-300 emails/hour.

However, you can hook up multiple mail servers from your own list of domain names and send out emails faster.

Or if you want greater speed and better deliverability than what the typical shared host offers, then you could also hook up DAP to a third-party SMTP server like AuthSMTP.com (which we use ourselves). All you need is a mail server host name (like mail.authsmtp.com), a username and password for the outgoing SMTP email account.

You don't need to set up any of DAP's membership features. Simply install DAP, and minutes later, you could be sending out bulk email through DAP's email broadcast system to an external email list (you could use DAP just as a stand-alone email system if you want).

    It is that simple, really.

    Hope this helps.

And for being a good competitor, and a good guy in general, you can get a free copy of DAP if you're interested. No strings attached :-). Just let us know.

    Cheers!

Forgot to add - since it's going to be your own DAP database on your own server, no need to worry about double opting them in. But even if you actually wanted them to double-optin again for whatever reason, DAP has you covered there too.

You can also import this external list into a DAP "Product" first, and then send out emails to this Product, so that you can also add an UNSUBSCRIBE link to all of the outgoing emails, allowing people to get off the list if they wish to.

And once you have created this email-only Product in DAP, you could also use DAP's email autoresponder feature to send out pre-scheduled emails to your list and even make them special offers or send them out good free content to revive the list.

And if you don't use the content protection part of DAP, then DAP can live in conjunction with any other membership plugin, including your own memberwing, and you can continue to use the pretty cool email features of DAP on its own.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

I would advise using either Mailchimp or Imnica, as I have heard good things about both of them.

Hope you manage to get this problem sorted out.

    Put them in Constant Contact

They have great deliverability and you can import your list easily. You may be required to do a "list review" but they are actually really cool and painless (I've had two already).
