What's the best Keyword Research Tool to Find Niche Keyword Phrases?

Can anyone help to advise me on the best Keyword Research Tool for identifying Niche Keyword Phrases?

Someone made reference to Ad Word Analyzer as their Keyword Research Tool of choice but I'm not sure how this still stacks up with the advent of Google's External Keyword Tool now showing actual search results with numbers; in otherwords what tool do you guys use?

The one challenge I've found with Google's External Keyword Tool, even with the new added search numbers, it appears to not really tell us the competition stats on how many "search" pages there are for a particular keyword phrase. The only way I can see to do this is to first use Google's keyword tool first and get the 'exact' searches, then do a Google Search (with quotations) on every keyword phrase that has possibility to see how many page results flash up... a long job! (

Also I feel Google's tool doesn't do a great job on digging down for long-tail phrases like SEObook does. Ultimately it would be great to have a Keyword Research Tool that does all this, hence why I was wondering what other Warriors use and could recommend?

    I'd have to always go with Wordtracker.

    As far as I'm aware, there is no 100% (or even 90%) spot on keyword tool out there that gets all the numbers right.

    Wordtracker does give you the most of any tool I've ever used though - identify your niche topic, get as many top level words together as possible then start digging. In the results that WT produces, it also allows you to dig deep into each result, upto 3 or 4 levels on some topics, thus making sure you pick up every single long tail phrase out there!

    It also has Lateral and Thesaurus wording to help you expand your niche research horizontally too!

    It's pricey - but you can buy a days access if you wish and do all your research in one hit.

    For finding out the number of competing pages, WT seems to be fairly spot on but the best method will always be to try each phrase in Big G yourself, one at a time.

    Also - try using www.kwbrowse.com to expand your niche areas for research - very powerful tool and the best price point - FREE!!

    If you don't know how to dig into WT results, let me know and I can expand with examples etc.

    Right, Google adwords keyword tools would be the most useful tool for finding niche relative keywords for it is dominant status. Also, free keyword tool from seobook.com would be a nice alternative, IMO.

    According to my experience Micro Niche Finder is the best. The reason behind is, it gives to variety of options and with that particular keyword you can find Article from Google as wel as product from Amazon. so for me it is the best.

    Well I personally think google keyword tool does the best job if you use it correctly,but y6ou don't seem to think so. I personally have several of the tools micro niche, market samurai, keyword elite, and use them all along with traffic travis.

    I typically get the best long tails using google keyword tool, and drilling down, by taking the begining keyword entering it then adding some of the good keywords and adding them to the list, then I search again using the list and usually get plenty of long tails from that.

    Also I use the wonder wheel , and google search itself will tell you some great long tails as well as LSI.

    When doing keyword research I would just stay with Google Adwords External, yeah it's a little more cumbersome than Wordtracker or Market Samurai but you what? At the end of the day, whose keyword data would you rather have, Google's or Wordtracker's? Wordtracker only pulls from a very small amount of smaller search engines making their data detailed but not very viable in my opinion. I'm not sure where Market Samurai pulls data from but again, when collecting data why not stick with the numbers from the big fish?

      I personally use Keyword Elite, It's the best and gives you a bunch of extra information on those keywords. I recommend you Google Keyword Elite. Version 2 is out now.

          keywordspy is pretty good in my opinion. The free trial version still gives you the top 20 keywords in the category.
