FailBlog.org - cashcow?

Hi,

do you think gous there is any money in websites like failblog.org?

I have an opportunity to buy a very good script for $15 that will be similar to www.demotywatory.pl - this is a polish website, the biggest and most popular in this ?niche in poland

i want to have my website in polish as well because it seems like people in my old country are about stuff like this.


do you think there is any market for rude/funny pictures websites?

    There are a lot of these sites now so if you were to do it, you'd need to stand out somehow, or hit an area that isn't already tapped.

      the cool thing is that this guys script pulls stuff from other websites of this type so i wont have to worry that it will get ages before i gopt some stuff posted.

      i will have 9 spaces for ads and also an option for collecting payments for different levels of membership if i want to


      in poland they have about 4 websites that are the main players and 3 of them were established in last year so i think i could potentially still find some space for myself

      my idea was to get this website around politics - polish pilitical scene has got many populists - and also polish comedy scene has been living off of politics for last 20 years so i think there is a niche for myself. there is no website of this kind in poland purely about politicians yet

      btw...do you think google "likes" websites like that?

    Don't waste your time.

    Having a script to clone a site doesn't mean you'll make any money.

    Anyone can throw up a site - it's marketing it that makes all the difference.

    Anything that's too easily duplicated, will have less value.

    That's one of the first factors that savvy website buyers
    look at for example... how easily can the existing site that
    they're thinking of buying can be duplicated. If it can be
    too easily duplicated, then it has very little value aside from
    existing traffic.

    You're missing the point.

    It pulls stuff from other websites means - it has low value as none of the content will be unique, so you'll struggle to get any traffic.

    It'll just be another "me too" site that you'll be disappointed with and move on to something else.

    Don't waste your time. Build something new and useful instead.

      yeah i realised that just after i clicked on submit the post button :-) however i meant this as something for a start - to have like 10 pictures pulled from other websites and mixed with few of my own so people dont see just an empty page where they come in. i suppose it like people having autogenereted few comments in wordpress just to show there is so movement on their website

      cool i will leave it for now. i can hear your points and they actually well correspond with the doubts i have already had:

      1. easy to replicate
      2. duplicate content
      3. plenty of stuff like that all over the internet


      what was driving me towards this idea was a low cost and also the fact i found a topic that wasnt yet covered in PL with a website of this kind

      but i think the issues you have raised are outweighting anything else

      if i ever come back to this idea i think i will start of with a simple wordpress blog structured to look similar to this type of scrit, get it all over fb and tweeter and se how the traffic goest. if its decent them will move to a proper script. but thats future
