How Do You Link To Random Youtube Video URL?

This has gotta be possible. There's gotta be a way to make a Youtube URL that simply links to any random video on Youtube.

Im not talking about a plugin or or some sort of php script that accomplishes this.

Just a URL that you can link to that spits you out at a random Youtube URL when you click on it.

Do you mean from your site or blog? If yes, then get a freelancer to write a script or plugin for you.

      Hi snowcloud,

A YouTube URL seems like this.
      watch?v=KfXIF2Mm2Kc

In this whole URL the code after v= is the actual YouTube file code which varies for each YouTube video.

YouTube doesn't provides an API through which we can get a random video each time because its YouTube who has complete database of Videos. You can make your own Script (Whether in JavaScript or PHP) and can define a list of Videos (as much as you can) and then print a random link on you blog every time a user visits. OR can make a website to provide random YouTube video link to the world whenever they need.

      thanks

Features do not exist by default. Somebody has to write them. And no, YouTube does not provide a "random video" URL.

I have heard of sripts that can pull up a random video from a set group of them.. but I guess it would make sense that Youtube is the only one that would be capable of making a true random video link.. thanks you guys

There's a way! But only from a particular Youtube Channel or Playlist. mityurl.com creates permalinks to the Newest, Previous and a Random video in any Youtube Channel or Playlist. Here are some examples using the TED Talks Youtube Channel.

    Random video: https://mityurl.com/y/TEDT/r

Clicking that link will yield a different random video each time. You can even add constraints to the selection. Example:

Random video from the Newest Ten: https://mityurl.com/y/TEDT/r-n-10

Random video Between the 5th and 25th: https://mityurl.com/y/TEDT/r-5-25

Equally impressive are the following links, which will always route to the most up-to-date content no matter when they are clicked.

    Newest video: https://mityurl.com/y/TEDT/n

    Previous Upload: https://mityurl.com/y/TEDT/p

If you're a Youtuber, the links are ideal for just leaving them in the description boxes of all your videos without ever having to worry about changing them. They are certain to increase click-through.

    Hope this helps!
