Directory Submission Question

I want to submit my blog to free directories such as DMOZ. What are the best ones (get the most traffic, not spammy and don't have to wait an eternity for submission to get through)? If you have a list that would be really great.

Also are services that auto-submit to lots of directories at once effective? Or do bots catch them and throw out the listings?

    DMOZ and Yahoo are the only ones worth being in, IMO. Both take loads of time to review your site though since they get thousands of submissions every day. For Yahoo though, you can pay $299/year and have your site reviewed within a week. You can decide whether that will be worth it for your site.
