Fields Of Gold Offline?

For the past year and a half or so there has been a real buzz around going offline and providing your skills to local businesses with some really insightful threads.

From people Making $2'000 with an hour and beyond.

I would just like to hear people's actual opinions on the whole "going offline" craze,

Has it actually worked for you? Is the hours you put into offline more than you put into Online?

Have the "Small" Business owners been satisfied with results?

I think in answer to your question there will be many mixed reviews!

Personally I think anyone can make a killing offline if you have skills online even if they are only basic! I quit my 9-5 within a week when I started my offline niche business but then I have a lot of experience in selling online services to offlien biz owners, so I would say its definately worked for me and more!

The profit you will pull per hour offline will most likely be substantially higher than the profit you will pull in online for most marketers.

Its all preference! You have to get off your a** and find clients, they wont coming running to you with a check worth $1,000s, you need to go and get it and I think that is what puts a lot off the niche!

You ahve to prospect to find clients, in my opinion you cannot pick up a check for $2,000 every hour, it aint that easy!

I personally enjoy prospecting, enjoy cold calling and visiting biz owners when I get a chance, Ive done it for long enough and the profit is nice!

The best part I would say is the effect you can have to a local brick and mortar biz owner, this in addition to the profit is unreal and worth the time you put in!

    Thats my 2 cents anyway! ; )

I think it all depends on your personality and what you are good at. I get flustered face-to-face so I would probably not do as well. But if you're a people person, give it a try!

Offline has been there for years now, there's just a twist now like the e-mail marketing stuff.

I'm running my own offline biz and before anyone think about going to it (or in any business), you need one skill you must be good at:

    SELLING.

    No Sales. No Business.

      BAM, Nail on the Head!

There is so much money in this niche its unreal. Most major internet marketers have been raking in major cash from offline biz owners for years like Imran said.

But it isn't as easy as walking into a business and walking back out after 10 mins with a check worth $1,000s. You have to SELL, there is no way around this at all if you want to earn big profits!!!

It helps to know how to sell. More importantly it helps to be 'good' with people. Put together a strategy and tweak it like you would a sales page. I have 3 clients and I'm satisfied. I used family and a friend for referrals. I then began 'hanging around' a bit, ask questions from clerk to owner, then got some jobs. It's simple if you keep it simple. Again, it's simple, only if you keep it simple. Just share basic knowledge, then everything else will follow.

Question is what type of offline business? I would be interested in knowing what they are selling offline.

Almost all businesses would work for this. They must want to advertise to bring in new clients. I also like business that use coupons of some sort and have high traffic. If they do this regularly you can set them up on autoresponders. That is a lot of businesses right there!

In my opinion selling is not the problem. no one likes to be sold anymore. Its a matter of leading the potential client down the path of least resistence, and supplying overwheming evidence of the needs they have. U have the solution.

2ndly- you must be able to solve some form of a Problem the client has.... Getting more sales, cutting costs, TEACHING them HOW TOO NEGOTIATE ( this is huge one ) and supplying the client with Idea's.

      Wanna sell someone fast,
      1) identify problem by asking probing open ended questions- get them talking
      2) help the customer feel their pain of the problem
      3) make the pain go away with your solution
      4) command big fees for getting rid of the pain

Offline is a Monster goldmine..... and it only takes a couple of skills

If your question is "does it really work?" then I am living proof because I took David's guidance and ran with it and it paid off just like he said it would.

Offline Consulting is really fun once you find your groove.

My last account was made during a hair trim. She asked me how are you today and I answered, very good, I am launching a product on the internet in the next day or so,..

You can guess what kind of conversation that started up and how I lead it to become a contact and later in the week a sale.

This stuff is too easy,.. if you just relax and let it be

    Cheers

Agreed, the offline world is like the wild wild west because so few people online want to actually go out and meet anyone in person let alone a business owner!!!

These businesses really love what we can bring to the table, this morning I had breakfast with one of my clients- a hunting preserve of all things and he was sharing with me that he has never received so many calls, he's extended his hunting season by an extra month.

He added that he was even getting calls from as far away as Ohio and Maine and we're here in Lancaster.

Yes, these strategies work great and Yes these businesses love talking to
us, are there a few knuckle heads YES but I love that b/c that helps separate
the people who are just in this for a quick buck and those who really know that they are providing a good service.

This is a great field of business, Imran is right on the money.

    To your success,

    John

I have a long list of people who've made a full time income for themselves within a month or less of starting.

They're ALL people who were willing to talk to business owners in person.

You can make a full time living using other lead generation techniques but you should be realistic and expect it to take longer.

I always think it's hilarious that people have to ask if this works.

If you look in any city you'll find professional web designers whose main business is creating websites for local businesses.

In most cases there are multiple businesses doing this.

And most of the websites they create don't even make any real sales.

This has been a HUGE niche for a long, long time.

The real key now is that internet marketers are realizing many of these business owners are paying premium price for solutions that are not very effective.

And the most BASIC internet marketing strategies work like gangbusters for most brick and mortar businesses.

Starting with business owners you know and business owners your friends know works very well.

Also just 3 clients could represent thousands of dollars in fees and tens, even hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees in the future.

When you help a business make serious profits they'll be happy to hire you over and over for different projects that you suggest.

One thing most people haven't really noticed is that guys like the Internet Marketing Center have sold high end packages to business owners who come to their seminars...often $10,000 to $15,000 for an internet marketing course and some consulting.

What you can give a business working with them one on one is much better and carries a lower entry cost.

You do the work for them and you sweat blood over helping them make profits.

Most Warrior Forum members would also be happy to set up a basic site for $1,500 to $6,000 or so.

That's a great deal if you're helping a business make even just an extra $150 a week in sales ($7,500 a year).

You can help nearly ANY business increase its sales and profits with internet marketing strategies.

In many cases even if you only know one or two very simple internet marketing strategies you can use those.

      It really isn't difficult...

And there are many, many others just like Chris who now make their full time living selling their services to brick and mortar businesses.

Keep in mind that around HALF the world's business turnover goes through small businesses.

It's the largest niche in the world.

If every Warrior Forum member started actively working with businesses in their local area it wouldn't even put a tiny dent in the potential market.

It is a bit like the Wild West.

The good news is you don't need a lot of skill to genuinely help a business make more sales and profits using internet marketing strategies.

I think that's the biggest key.

People who've studied internet marketing for a relatively short time (3-6 months) can provide exceptional value helping small businesses and charge very good fees in return.

This is one of the best opportunities in the world today...there's no real cost to get started, the skill required is not too high and the income you can make is substantial...even when you're starting out.

      Kindest regards,
      Andrew Cavanagh

First, thank you Andrew for all you do. I find myself agreeing with you often.

I'm really excited about all the possibilities. I've had an off-line business for 10 years, and I know how important IM skills are to local businesses. And I've seen enough business owners faces over the years tell me how business was doing. They're often desparate for help, but they try to put a brave face on for the next potential customer that walks in their store. So just walk in and ask them if there's anything you can help them with. And I agree with an earlier poster, the lists of people who need this is endless.

        Keep workin'

Would say the buzz was around because of people searching for alternatives.Onliners going offline and vice versa, the grass always looks greener on the other side, right? Every business requires a settling time before it starts returning. No miracles happen, just that we happen to be at the right place at the right time a few times. what do you think about this?
