I've created a fan page with over 3k fans on a specific tv show.. I already lost a page with 4k+ fans due to Intellectual Property. How can I go about doing a page like this without violating any facebook rules. I know I am not allowed to upload pictures from the specific page. What if I share them? or share their videos.. I am so confused on the whole issue. I've read their policies but the way they word it you would have to be a lawyer to understand LOL. I've spent money on advertising with this page and the last one. I'd hate to lose this one. Can someone please help me?

First off, I'm not a lawyer and I do not pretend to be...It really depends on what you are trying to do with the page? You could always use FB as a gateway and then drive them to a Wordpress site, where you have a little more control over what happens.

Have a lead gen on the page and collect emails, so that you can always follow up with updates or any news on a new page if that one gets shut down.

Maybe put Unofficial Fan club or some type of tag like that with the page title.

I do agree with you on how they word their policies...

You can always contact them and let them know in advance...you may try to work out something with them...you may suggest that your are promoting their tv show and im sure they are willing to listen to what your plan...they might also advice you on the do or donts...this is just some advice...

Ok the page isn't directly related (TVSHOW) Fans.. I was creative and made my own name this time.. However my first page was (TVSHOW) Fans. I did use some of their pictures I personally uploaded on to the fanpage ( I think that may have been why it got merged) anyways. I have been collecting the emails through aweber. Is there a possibility that when I post amazon links that could affect it? I don't do it in a spammy way. This is just so stupid considering there is other fan pages with the more of their IP .. I took off anything related to the show except a banner I made because I am so nervous. Just so confusing. $50 down the drain on the last page and this one if it goes down I will be very p'offed. Wish I could get someone with some experience on the subject. Thanks for the advice though guys much appreciated.

Well black irish.. I have an opt in form on my fb page.. FB says that is ok as long as you have a privacy policy on what your using it for. Aweber provides that right on the form.

Another question. Can they sue me for having pictures on my website as long as I reference where I got them?

Yes, and if they know they can get something out of you, they will. Is it ok to steal from Wal-Mart just as long as you tell the police that's where you acquired it from?

Try getting your fans to optin to your email list (through an optin on an external non-fb page)?

    That should secure your investment.

Only use content that you have the right to use.. This would be a simple fix to your problem.
Also be careful what you name your pages.. FB are clamping down on generic names such as "how to earn money online".. instead "how to earn money online with ricochet" would be fine.

Whether it's FB or any other platform, using content that is not intended to be shared will cause issues. Bear that in mind and you should be ok

Ok understood.. Is it ok if I hit the share button from their facebook as long as I don't remove their tag? Say if they post a video is it ok to press share to share on my page?

For videos, check to see what they already have in the public domain and link or embed it. Check wikipedia, on the topic.
