First off, you need to choose a niche to target. You can't just set-up a blog and add random affiliate programs to monetize it. Use the Google keyword tool or the free keyword tool from Wordtracker to pinpoint a targeted niche that you would like to conquer.

Then you need to update your blog once or twice a day with unique content on your chosen topic. Btw, you should consider using Wordpress because it's free (does Godaddy blogging cost anything?) and has a lot of nice themes and plugins.

It's really a lot more complicated (pm me for details), but after you have your blog with unique content set-up, you need to submit articles to article directories and do some social bookmarking to increase traffic and backlinks to your blog.

Of course, you need to find a niche where there are Clickbank products being offered and stick 'em into your blog in the form of banners, text links, reviews, etc.

If you choose a niche that is easy enough to break into and dominate, then following the above steps properly (again, it's a little more complicated than that, but you get the idea) will get you on the front page.
