Do you use WordPress for your sales page?

I'm setting up a new website and was seriously considering setting it up using WordPress so that it would be easier to constantly add content.

Now I've begun wondering whether that is such a good idea.

My concern is that the site could "rank and tank" based on my content only, and not be able to take advantage of any off page SEO.

So, dear guru's, what you think? Static pages with CSS, or WordPress for a sales site?

Any advantages or disadvantages to one that outweigh the features of the other?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I use WP for several sites... it's my favorite site platform. But I use static HTML pages for my sales pages.

The main reason for me is that I just don't need WP for a sales page. I don't have any outgoing links from them, or links to internal pages (other than TOS at the bottom of the page). So the content management aspect of WP is not a benefit in that case.

Now it could make it easier to make quick edits to your sales page on the fly. HOWEVER, I like to keep an archive of all my sales page changes. In other words, whenever I make a change to the HTML page, I do a "Save as", so I can revert back to the old if needed.... and do split tests, etc.
