On Using Caffeinated Content On Blog

I created my first Wordpress blog using Caffeinated Content a month or so ago. I'm not too happy with the results so far, particularly as far as traffic is concerned, and would appreciate constructive comments about my blog.

I've been pulling the content from Yahoo Answers related to my particular niche; have been using the SEO plugin; have been using my Social Boolmarking program (SocialBot); have written articles to attract traffic; have chosen a domain name related to my main keyword, etc.

I came up on the first page in Google for my main keyword within a couple of days of writing my first article then it disappeared - difficult to find on first 20 pages or so of Google.

I'm wondering that because the content is coming from Yahoo Answers if I am being penalized for duplicate content.

Would appreciate someone checking out my blog at: www.how-to-make-up-with-your-ex.com and offering some advice.

Bob

you might want to combine answers, articles, youtube. Answers alone is probably NOT the best content. Pull a few articles also.

You can just do some extra runs of CC and pull articles in addition.

It also doesnt hurt to put in some own content once in a while, in addition.

It's not just about content either - the structure of your site gets it places too. I didn't have time to hang around your site for long, but the first thing I noticed was that it doesn't even have a title tag. It isn't going to get very far with the search engines without one, and could well be lacking other necessary behind-the-scenes stuff too.

That said, it's not unusual for new sites to hit high with Google within days, only to disappear into obscurity a short time later. This is quite a common occurrence where lots of content has been added too quickly.

I hope that made some kind of sense - I'm falling asleep here. You want to sort that title tag out though.

    Hi Bob;

I know it can be frustrating, building sites and watching them go up and down in the SERPs. But sometimes we just can't see the forest for the trees when it comes to our own sites.

As Diane pointed out, your site is missing some very basic things.

The biggest thing that struck me is there doesn't seem to be any purpose to the site. You seem to want to have a blog. Yett the purpose of a blog is to engage your readers, but you have comments turned off. This would be a BIG frustration to anyone who visited your site, and makes it fairly obvious to Google that yours is not a real blog. I don't get the purpose of posting questions without giving anyone a chance to answer.

Plus you have not set up CC very well. In one post you have the following content...

Caffeinated Content - Members-Only Content for WordPress

Women love drama and will never let anything go.
Not really what you want on your site.

I wouldn't blame CC for your problems, the plugin did exactly what you told it to do. Take a few moment to do some basic setup and you should be okay.

As Georg mentioned, mix up the content a little. CC will pull images into your posts. This can add a lot to this type of site, as people want to identify with the (supposed) poster.

I don't quite get the whole point of the site. There is no Adsense, no links to your product, no link to a free give-away report or newsletter, no reason whatsoever for someone to return. And in the end Google knows that too. Take some time to make it a valuable site for your visitors and you should be back up in the serps.

    I hope this helps.
