How can i make a forum that starts .forums

Hello people,i want to know how people make these forums that start like forums.digitalpoint.com i know this may sound stupid for you guys but i want one of those.By the way the main thing that i want to know is what is the name of the provider that is giving those domains.Because what i am thinking is that they are free.

    those are called subdomains, so basically if you own a domain then you can create subdomains from your hosting account, alot of hosting companies allow you to make unlimited subdomains under your domain like keyword1.domain.com keyword2.domain.com
    Once you create this subdomain then its treated like it is a new domain.. so basically it will have its own directory in your hosting account and after that you can install a free forum software and start using it ( you need to create a database for that which is easy if you follow the forum manual)

    on the other hands, I think you can find free sites that offer you free forums on their domains but they will advertise their own ads on it.

    Click on the "subdomains" icon on your main cpanel screen.

    Create a new subdomain: forum.yourdomainname.com

    Then choose the forum software you would like to install on the domain. This can be vbulletin, phpBB, EMF, etc... and upload.

    You can buy domain names from any service on the net.
    ( some are better service and lower priced )

    When you buy the domain name you can add a . in the name.

    like fancy.trucks

    then registered that as a .com, .org, .net extension of choice.

    So you could buy fancy.trucks.com, fancy.trucks.org etc.

    Also, you can use " sub-domains "

    Once you own a domain name say " trucks.com "

    you can create a sub-domain in your hosting account called " fancy "
    and your URL for that new subdomain would be " fancy.trucks.com "

    You'll find the sub-domain creator usually as a tab somewhere in your hosting
    account control panel.
