I'm looking to increase the use of video promotion in my marketing mix and would like to hear Warriors recommendations on their favoured video creation and (affiliate) URL redirection tools and software.

    Hi George,

I will answer this one by pointing out my own products...

Simply because they are among the best for this particular feature.

I have introduced several techniques that may even be more effective than just "redirecting" including the ability to display product images and affiliate links in the same page as the video is playing at precise moments during a video's play... or maybe an optin box.

Additionally for one of our player products we created the option to open a page in a new window instead of redirecting at any time during a video's play even open multiple pages at different moments if you need.

The key to this kind of technology is to use it in ways that boost your response. My main focus is creating response boosting video players that deliver features not seen in other player software.

Most recently we updated one of our players so that the redirection url would be included in the flashvars or in the code that is embedded in a webpage for displaying the video player.

The reason this is important is because it allows publishers who use affiliate tool automation systems to publish a video, which they host, and use automated affiliate link insertion systems for their affiliates and just provide their affiliates with a couple lines of code to paste in their page so that they can use the publishers video and have it redirect automatically to their custom affiliate link.

      Thanks Josh.

Do these tools work if you're looking to create videos with the redirect facility for upload to the video sites like YouTube or Googlevideo rather than embedding into your own web page?

      Regards

        No tool will do that.

Video sharing sites encode and embed the video using their own player. its is the player that gives you the functionality and there are no video sharing sites that offer that functionality.

To redirect you will need player solutions that provide the redirect features.

Also note that Google video is dead. You can no longer upload videos to it.

          Josh,
Does Adobe Captivate do the video redirect like Camtasia and your products do?

I've searched and searched, but can't find it noted anywhere.

I doubt it but that would be a question for adobe. My understanding of captivate is that it allows you to create more interactivity in your presentations. It may include hot spot abilities and it may be compatible with flash so you could code other actions but I don't know that much about it.

There is a tool called Instant Video Cloaker that will cloak your affiliate links, redirects, etc. instantly online.

It works with affiliate programs using Clickbank, RAP, 7 dollar script,Amember, etc.

You can see how it works here.....

                Instant Video Cloaker

So if you want to cloak your redirect links when your promoting products using video as an affiliate it works quite well for this.

You can also let your affiliate use it to promote your own products services.

Just buy camtasia. It is an investment you will never look back on. By far the best video capturing software on the web.
