How can you read 3 times faster??

This is one cool peice of software. I have no affiliation to it. I just heard of it from Rich Shefren. It is to help you learn stuff faster from the written word (text).

Think about it - what if you could take in and learn those ebooks and courses you bought, but MUCH faster...

There is a free trial version which I am currently using.

It is at www.reallyeasyreader.com

What do you think? Does it help you read faster? And does that help you get through WSO text courses quicker?

I purchased a software some months ago called 7 Speed Read. I used it for a couple of weeks and saw some improvement but then I totally forgot about it. I think I will start with it again.

      Hi Alex,

What the www.ReallyEasyReader.com software does is not so much train you to read faster when you are looking at physical books (although it might - I have not got to that part of their training).

What is does is takes the digital text you are reading and feeds each word at you, one at a time, in the centre of the software's window, one after the other, at really high speed.

With the first run, I was reading at 400 words per minute which is about 2-3 times to normal average reading rate.

      Yes.

Its fascinating how much I was actually taking in. Because the words are thrown at you at high speed, you read them quickly without verbalizing them - ie without saying the words in your head. This apparently helps with cognition of the words and the overall content.

The tutorials for Really Easy Reader are done USING the software - ie the tutorials are not in a PDF. The words of the tutorials are thrown at you in the same place on your screen, one after the other, a speed.

And yes, it does go in. Crazy!

Most programs like this teach you the basics of "how to stop reading every word on the page".

If you want to read only three times faster, then read only every third word.

Hey Bill - a bit late I know

The crazy thing is that you do look at every word - at high speed - and it does all (viturally all) go in

I don't like this idea because when I read something I want to understand what I’m reading and perhaps go back to a certain paragraph before continuing, even though I read very fast.

Absorbing the information you have is a process that takes a lot more time than the time you need to simply read this information once.

Thank you. I have used the Evelyn Wood speed reading technique but it doesn't really translate well to computer screens. I'll try your suggestion.
