Hello Gaz!

You have a nice blog with good quality contents. I would suggest to submit your blog to blog and rss directories. You can search on Google the list of directories. You can also engage in link exchange to other blogs with the same niche. That's the two way link building where your blog will be listed in the blogroll or other blogs and vice versa.

I hope my suggestions able to help your blog in getting traffic. :-)

Hi, thanks for the advice, I am currently going through the processes at the moment...time on my hands a big factor as I hold down a regular job and have a family aswell...will battle on though

  With one of my sites in a financial niche I can offer some advice:
  
  1) Get involved with Blog Carnivals. A great way to start building links
  2) Post articles on free article sites related to your niche with a signature at the end of the article with a hyperlink back to your site
  3) Try a Google Adwords campaign to increase traffic. You don't have to spend a lot of money here. Why not reduce the pay per click to one you can afford.
  4) Post good quality comments on other high PR sites in your niche ensuring a link to your website is included
  5) Become active on high PR forums such as Warrior Forum
  6) Use Social Media sites to promote your blog. Post your blog articles to multiple social media platforms using a tool such as Ping.fm
  7) Use You Tube to your advantage by producing relevant niche videos with a reference to your site in the video
  8) Email other similar site owners in your niche and ask for a link exchange ( feel free to drop me an email). I run a website in your niche.
  9) Create your own PDF files but ensure there are hyperlinks back to your site embedded within the PDF file. Give the PDF away as a promotion on your website.
  10) Read what others are doing on Warrior Forum and other internet marketing sites
  
  I could go on but this should keep you busy.

Be sure to get an opt in list on there somewhere above the fold. You should be trying to get them to give their email address so you can market to them later, otherwise the traffic might go to waste.

I also suggest following someone like Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income. He is brilliant with the way that he monetizes his blog and even shows monthly income reports with how he makes his money.

First, make sure you are either writing or outsourcing unique, quality content. Second, you should be using an SEO plugin like the "All-in-One SEO Pack." Third, you should be writing articles using keyword terms you can get ranked for (in addition writing product reviews). You will get traffic from both. Use social bookmarking sites like Digg and others. Use social media sites like Twitter. Do some blog commenting, and make sure of forum signatures...and the list goes on.

SEO to get more people checking out your blog. I love blogging. Blogs are great for SEO purposes.

As mentioned before with a couple of SEO plugins, all you have to do is provide the content and do a little bit of link building.

Some good SEO plugins that i am using are as follows:

All in One SEO Pack
iRobots.txt SEO
Robots Meta
SEO Friendly Images
SEO Slugs

Be sure to add some social buttons at the beginning or end of your blog post. You can gain extra traffic from a few of your subscribers using these tools

make sure that you do proper keyword research so that your posts are not targeting keywords that are too competitive, so that you increase your chances of ranking high
