How safe is your online business or affiliate business.

I read a few threads that were talking about different kinds of hacks.

Im not a tech geek so i dont know nuts about hacking stuff.

Is public Wifi safe?

because sometimes i just love going to the public library to use my laptop and chill there.. at the same time doing some of my work there.

but i read that one guy got his affiliate commissions hacked when he was outside using wifi.

And is there any difference with Wifi and home internet connection with password in terms of safety.

Lets all [genuine IMers] help each other to a safer business online and stop those stupid hackers from hacking..

Definitely accurate! Wifi is only as safe as you make it!

Make sure that File Sharing on your Disk Drives and My Documents folder is disabled.

And make sure that Windows Firewall is ON with no exceptions for "File and Printer Sharing". This should protect your PC at 2 levels.

If you want to go further, try to use WPA encryption to the WiFi access point although being a public access point, that may not be possible.

Public Wifi and Safety are opposite terms my friend..Ever heard of Firesheep??This software allows even a newbie to get a sneak peak into other users data who are connected to a public Wifi or hotspot..So whenever you want to connect to a Wifi or a hotspot dont do it unless you have a VPN connection which encrypts your data..

    1. Nothing is Private or secure on public wifi.
    2. Make sure to use SSL for Webmail.
    3. If your company has a VPN that you can use for Internet browsing, you should use it.
    4. HotSpot is better than public wifi.
5.On unencrypted wireless networks, everybody can see & know where you are surfing (except on HTTPS Websites).

    In short avoid public Wifi..................

lol ya that is not helping.

comments like as long as u stay safe, or as long as you surf safely doesnt really cut it.
