Desperately need advice from a long-time lurker here

Hello everybody. I have been lurking on these forums for years, so I feel I know most of you although you don't really know me. So for that I apologize for always lurking and never showing my face.

I am a singel parent of six who sells an ebook that is based on a personal experience in my life that concerns abuse. It is not a IM ebook, by far. Just wanted to establish this upfront.

I have been using PayPal for years, and live hand-to-mouth. Let's just say that what I make each day in sales what I spend that very next day in living expenses. I don't receive child support or assistance, state assistance, etc.

PayPal has never done me wrong. Until now. I never thought it would happen to me (as I hear quoted here all the time) but it did! PayPal put a 21-day hold on my sales for no reason. I have an excellent record, and almost zero refunds or chargebacks over the years. Yet just two weeks before Christmas they stop allowing me to get my money! Numerous attempts to contact them by email resulted in jsut two 'robot-answered' form-letter replies. Phoning is even less successful. "That account cannot be accessed via phone". Huh?

I am panicking! I don't have any money put away as I state I live hand-to-mouth - and barely that. I will lose my home as i will nto eb able to pay rent. No Christmas gifts. Water about to be shut-off. My dog (I rescued him from a methlab-drug house two years ago) -- who I would run in front of a moving train to save -- is sick with cancer and I can't even get his vet care. He will die, for sure. That will kill me and the kids more than anything.

Thank God my vehicle is paid for, but it is also old and not worth anything so not an option to fall back on (i.e, cash for car loan).

Here is my question. At the end of the 21-days, do I get all 21-days worth of my holdings released, or do I only get released the holdings from the 21 days ago stand-point. What I am trying to explain is this...if I made $100 yesterday, and I make $120 tomorrow, will I only get the $100 from yesterday 21 days from now, or will I get everything I made from this point forward at the end of the 21 days?

I don't know what to do, and going to another account (2CO, ClickBank, etc.) do nto sem options because they all have a two weeks pay, and not an immediate pay 'today' liek PayPal hadd. Also, I tried Google Checkout and made two sales through them, but both sales failed, so I am not going to trust them -- never had that problem at all with PayPal.

Appreciate any advice, as I am sick to my stomach with stress and can't stop stressing. I feel like I'm going to die

This is their public customer service phone number: 1-888-221-1161. You really need to get them on the phone ASAP.

I've contacted PayPal several times by phone (the number in the above post) and found them to be very professional and helpful. Give it a try.

Thank you. They told me there is no department for that and that i ned ebay referrels, but I don't sell and nevr sold on ebay.

Can I add that I did successfully signup at clickbank which cost me a precious $49 but 2CO turned me down because a car loan I co-signed on 5 years ago ended up in a repossession 3 years ago. Plus some unpaid hospital bills for kids (I have no insurance) made for a bad credit report. I guess 2CO only allows merchants with good credit rating, so that option is out. Paypal won't deal with me over the phone and tell me that department is unable to work except through emails, but my emails are ignored except for the form-robot reply. Will I get all my holdings at the end of 21 days? Does anyone who has been through this know? And will the hold be lifted then, too?

Yeah. Paypal and I have had a few run-ins, but they have always been ready, willing, and able to help on the phone. Don't take no for an answer. Get your money.

Never got that problem, I only had a few account limitations which cleared after I've sent them documents of my business.

I would suggest to call them, and in the meanwhile find another person to accept your payments for you. Also you can try AlertPay as a payment solution. It is not big as Paypal is, but probably its a good alternative.

Ooh, well done. I was following the thread quite anxiously and am very pleased and relieved to hear it.

In the long run, you need a "PayPal alternative" lined up, if you possibly can - even if only for emergencies. Have you looked at "AlertPay" (they're not bad at all)?

MySix, this is great news, I just read your original post and saw what happened. I am not particularly fond of Paypal these days myself, so I can appreciate how scary that must have been. I'm glad you got it resolved!

No one here can tell you what Paypal will do with your account or won't do. Have you been withdrawing all the money and not leaving a reserve?

If so, that could be one reason for the hold. They are creating a reserve and you will not be able to withdraw the entire amount. That happens to a lot of people. I always have left a reserve in my Paypal account to cover unforeseen chargebacks or refunds.

But you need to figure out how to get them on the phone and see what the problem is exactly.
