I appreciate a job well-done... Do you?

I've been going through the fun of finding a new car insurance policy, and the process has made me think about marketing (or the lack thereof!)...

My insurance agent and I went back and forth in a few emails, me asking her questions and her making tweaks, so that I get a policy that's affordable, while also giving me the coverage I need. The agent has been more than happy to answer all of my questions and make the process as easy as possible. After all, there's plenty in it for her, too. As soon as I sign on the dotted line, I'll have a great insurance policy, and she'll get her commission. It's a win-win for both sides.

But here's the point...

...What are your customers saying about you? Are they giving you kudos for a job well-done? Do they think that you're just doing the bare minimum to make a buck? Do they think you're living up to the promises you're making in your sales copy?

The next time you go to publish that so-so article, that boring video, that blog post you wrote in a hurry because you had a million other things to do, or send the email to your list that screams "BUY" without offering anything of actual substance, consider how much you appreciate a job well-done when you're a customer and pass it on!

If you look at each sale as a win-win situation - instead of just something else to brag about in a screen capture - you'll probably get more of them!
