Need help choosing different method of payment then PayPal

Hello all,

I am about to invoice my new clients but I don't want to have them to pay via PayPal . I have some clients on PayPal , however due to high fees I would like to switch to different method of payment.

Is that something that you recommend ? And BTW has to have recurring payment options as well.

Thank you very much in advance

Authorize.net is good but it's a little pricey. E-junkie is reliable as well.

Can authorize.net deposit into your bank account instantly or do you have to wait once a month for the designated pay period?

    Authorize.net is a payment gateway.
E-junkie is a shopping cart solution.

Both of these options can not replace Paypal. They are not ways of accepting money, they are tools that help get the job done

They do not make deposits every month. Payments are deposited in a couple of days. How long it will take exactly will depend on your bank and your merchant account.

I recommend you start looking for a merchant account. This is a better option in my opinion. With a merchant account you do not have to go through Paypal. You will have the money deposited directly into your bank account.

Furthermore, the fees you are charged for a merchant account are usually less than the fees you would incur using Paypal.

Checkout MerchantMaverick.com for good merchant account providers.

Along with your merchant account, you will require a payment gateway. Always go with Authorize.net because they integrate well with a lot of billing systems on the net. They are very popular. They also allow you to create custom monthly subscriptions for your clients.

P.S. You might be interested in PaySimple.com. They are one of the very few providers that offer their clients merchant services & a built in customer management system.

Thanks , I will try it out the PaySimple.com . Actuall after a quick look I will have to pay $35 per month, so ... I think I will pass it.

Thanks for the advice on this thread.

Just thought I'd add that I am currently attempting to use AlertPay, but finding them complicated and time-consuming to join with ambiguous instructions (such as you "MUST" have business registration documents, but if you email them they say if you haven't then you can just join anyway). Currently they are saying that they cannot work with Visa cards to authorize my account, and they have no idea when this "temporary" problem will be fixed. Which looks unprofessional to say the least. On the other hand, they do make reasonably informative replies to questions, within a few days, so I shall keep trying with them for a while!

Whatever you do, do not use any company associated with First American Payment Systems (such as Apex Merchant Group, Eliot Management Group, Transtech, Merimac Capital, and about 12 other associated companies), Wells-Fargo, Costco, Sam's Club, and please, check out any potential company on RipOffReport.com or ComplaintsBoard.com or even ConsumerAffairs.com. Don't even trust the BBB even...they're biased in my view.

I do like MerchantMaverick.com for reviews, but he's not entirely accurate, and there's a lot of companies he's not reviewed, but nevertheless, it seems to be a quality site and I'm going to try contacting a couple of the top rated month to month (no contract) companies tomorrow.

How do you "thank" someone for their post...I wanted to thank Eddie Titan for alerting me to the existence of MerchantMaverick.com, but I am not seeing how it's done...

Hello Mike, Authorize.net is a good solution. They have some good recurring billing options, but its an extra $10/month.

I just developed a script that makes it easy for a NON-coder to configure it so that by changing one line of code , Paypal can go from ON to OFF and then they can immediately start accepting JUST Authorize.net. Took some time with all the recurring options. PM me if interested.

The solutions mentioned by other users are great. If you don't want to use any of them, however, you can ask your clients to get a Payoneer MasterCard debit card through one of its clients, if they don't have one already. You can load the fees with your credit card. The fees are similar to Paypal I think but it is very convenient. The only problem is that there is a monthly cost associated with Payoneer (only deducted when there is cash on your card).

As others have mentioned, AlertPay is good too and its fees is much lower. I have used Payoneer quite a bit, so if you are interested, don't hesitate to ask any questions related to it.

payoneer or skrill (formerly moneybookers). I not really using these methods, but they are recommended in odesk, so maybe these can help.

I also recommend MerchantMaverick.com for a good list of merchant account providers.

In regards to Payoneer, you should also consider signing up to become a partner of ours. The process is very quick and simple, and it will allow you to send direct payments to Payoneer account holders (rather than private loads). They would be able to sign up for a new account via your program, or if they already have an account simply link to it.

It's a great way to cut down on costs and processing times.

If you have any questions about becoming a Payoneer partner, feel free to contact me (or post here).

    Thanks,
